mulling it over, probably going to swap my LG V40 in, it's a nicer phone and wireless qi. I was really turned off on flipping phones by the careless covid crowd but I've got my jab on now.

I would avoid this phone and recommend people wait for the pixel 4a to go on sale for a budget phone. The 5a should be released relatively soon. Google has great software support for their phones. Definitely worth the price bump, it will last at least twice as long as this phone and perform much better.

Cheers

Battery is bad but at least fast charges. Actually has nfc and Google play unlike a lot of other Moto G series phones.

Just adding my experience with a similar phone:

I had the Moro G6 when it was new. It was a great experience for about 12 months. Then it got laggy. I added an SD card that never really worked right, and eventually failed all together. It had a bunch of my data on it, but the phone just stopped reading it. I did several factory resets to try to get speed and functionality back, but no luck.

I gave up on cheap android phones and bought an iPhone 12 Pro in the fall. I'm not saying you should definitely go with an iPhone, but I definitely wouldn't recommend a cheap, old android phone.
There are many nicer, older flagship Androids under $150. LG G8 and Pixel phones. Check Swappa.

Google says this phone came out in Feb 2019. So how much longer will it receive security updates? If only for 1 year, then that's not so good...
LOL, it probably wont get any at all from this point on. Somebody who actually has this phone should chime in when the last security update was but I'm betting last year some time.

Not sure if you're being facetious, because if that deal was still on, the Motorola G7 Plus mentioned in this deal would be about $20 if the rebate were still around.

However, this current deal is saying that $120 is the 'deal price', I was just curious why people are voting this deal up when it's pretty much the normal going price for the Motorola G7 Plus (which is what this post is about). I don't get why this deal is getting a lot of positive votes when it's basically the same cost every other day without a 'sale'.

Wait, are you trolling us right now? Just read this other post by you, but why would this be hard to believe? It's really easy to do a quick search.

No jumping through hoops needed at that time. Both deals are dead, but both deals allude to this phone being $120 regularly.
This would've been an okay price 2 years ago right when the phone came out.
Even then, wouldn't have been a screaming deal. Unfortunately you can't see a front page "deal" any longer and assume it's FP worthy. A lot of things that pop up on here now aren't "FP worthy" and aren't even luke warm, but just the normal everyday pricing. I just don't know how some of the deals get so many thumbs up.

The LG G8 is definitely a nice phone. It's also 1.5 years old and from what I see costs about $300-$400 still. I think updates should be a major concern when shopping for older phones, especially older android phones, and certainly cheaper ones like mid-range motorolas.

This is a very good midrange phone at a low end price. My LG G7 had the battery balloon and knock the back cover off a month out of warranty and I picked this up as a temporary phone, but I will probably stick with it. It has Android 10, is very snappy to use, has a headphone jack, SD card slot, and a pretty good screen. The battery life and camera are just so-so, but at this price I can't complain. I'm using it with Mint with no issues. As far as it being an old phone, mine was manufactured two months ago and is running Android 10. Doesn't seem old when I use it. My LG was still stuck on 9 and never got updates. Considering how disposable these phones are getting, I would rather use something for two years at this price over paying five times as much for something that is still going to have battery issues or break out of warranty.

Wow you lucky bastard! I have a z3 play (believe it was released around the same time) and it has a security update dated July 1st, 2020 LOL. That never even got android 10 like it was supposed to. I wouldn't expect any more though since they usually roll out security updates every couple of months and it's been several months now.
