how is the quality of TEQ Professional hand tools?

I read on other forums they might be OE for Advance Auto from the same manufacture as Gearwrench?

It appears that whereas Gearwrench tools are usually manufactured in Taiwan, TEQ tools are manufactured in China (both owned by Apex Tool Group). They may or may not be manufactured to the same standards, but I personally prefer Taiwanese-made tools to Chinese-made tools (if American-made tools are not available and/or economically-practicable).

Thanks for the info. I personally would rather have Taiwanese made tools as well.

Unfortunately, the Gearwrench equivalent is now also made in China.

I honestly think they are the same tools with different branding, but would probably choose Gearwrench unless Advance Auto allows for in-store swaps of broken ones.

You can exchange GW at any Lowes, HD, TSC, Sears....

Advanced Auto is phasing out GW, so they are probably saying 30 days so you don't try to exchange it there in a year or two - when they no longer have stock.

I tried to "by-pass" the system but my order got canceled. You can only get this set if you find an Advance Auto Parts that has it in stock, otherwise they won't ship you a set. Like another forum member said, AAP is phasing out Gearwrench so some items is YMMV
