I've owned one for several years now. Very Sharp. Nice pointy teeth to help cut into crusty bread. Very ergonomic handle. Perfect length. It's better than pretty much any other knife out there in every functional way. Only reason not to buy this knife is if you want something that looks fancier.
Amazon has had this on sale for $12.99 a million times. Once it was on sale for $12.50.
It's ATK's favorite serrated/bread knife.
Mercer has another, cheap line with white handles that looks similar to this one for under $10.
You have a great memory. Thanks for reminding me of that. I watched that ATK episode. It was counterintuative, at least to me, but the cleanest cutting bread knives had the fewest teeth per inch and had teeth that were very pointy with wide scallops between them. This knife hit all these points. I had a bread knife that I bought years ago because it had lots of small, closely spaced teeth, thinking more teeth were better. After watching the ATK episode, I bought this knife and it worked waaaaay better than my old one.
