Thank you for that comment. I think speed, no lag, is what people really want most in a streamer. For a hundred bucks, you expect it to be fast when new.

I bought this last time and my main floor has the roku ultra. It was really really slow. So I tried my old roku 3 and that was even much faster than the streambar.

Seems odd this is also the only review I've seen suggesting this. Maybe the one you had was defective? No worries though easy returns at target if necessary.

So if the built in roku is slow and the sound is only marginally better than awful tv speakers, what is the point of buying this? Get a better Soundbar and separate roku streamer for better sound and better streaming speeds instead.

I'm done with Roku. Local player has been a disaster for years. Some videos you can't pause or fast forward using remote botton, but you can through voice command. Never fix the issue, and blaming on your video files.

Also, I got a AirTV Mini through Sling for free, oh my god, feels way faster then the Roku Ultra I bought a couple of months ago.

FWIW, I have the Streambar hooked up to my bedroom tv, never noticed it being slow. I'm not saying it's not objectively slower, just that perhaps it's not so slow to the point where it's annoying to an average Joe like me.

I have it hooked up in my bedroom. I'm very happy with it, nice to have a small all-in-one unit with decent sound quality and looks nice. I wouldn't want this for my living room, not enough bass and just "good" sound. Perfect for a bedroom.

Just purchased this on Amazon for the same price earlier this week. I haven't noticed any slowness, but I was also coming from an ancient Roku express that was painfully slow. I have it in my bedroom and like the sound and added sound settings (speech volume, sound leveling, etc). I'd recommend it but I'm no soundbar expert lol.

Sound is an upgrade over most TVs just not much bass. I have had no lagging and slowness is not noticeable unless you are used to Apple Tv or maybe the Roku Ultra. I am very happy with mine.

I picked one up at Walmart for the same price earlier this week. I have a Hisense Roku tv in one room and an Nvidia Shield in the other and so far I haven't noticed this being any slower than those. It's obviously not a full home theater experience, but the sound is a huge improvement over tv speakers. I got it to use while working out and I don't even have to turn it up halfway to hear it fine over my noisy elliptical. For me at least, this was a great buy.

I also plan on using this as an all in one solution for watching movies on the projector outside. I haven't tried it out yet (hopefully tonight) but I do appreciate that I can use it in different places without much hassle.
