I've been in the market for a miter saw since March and think I've found a steal at almost 30% off - and a huge bonus that Metabo makes really good stuff ! 10-inch is the perfect balance - doesn't take up as much room in storage as a 12-inch when not in use, but much more versatile than the small and weak 7.25-inch versions.

If you Google search the model number, you'll also get a hit for $101 at Target (shipped by CPO Outlet) - but if you look closer at the listing, it's for a Refurb unit.

Finally I can get started on my room-divider project this spring!

Metabo is pro grade, but this isn't Metabo.

This is Metabo HPT. The HPT stands for Hitachi Power Tools. When Hitachi was sold to KKR (who also owns Metabo), they kept making the same products, but couldn't keep the name so they changed it to Metabo HPT.

Metabo HPT is consumer level. Still pretty decent, but far from the quality of real Metabo.

I have the hitatchi version. Great saw. I use it mostly for simple hobby furniture builds. I do wish I had held out for a sliding miter saw though.

Good quality saw for the price. I have the Metabo sliding compound and I've been quite happy with it. It has a cool led light in addition to the laser so you can see where you're cutting. Fair warning though, like all the ones with laser guides you gotta calibrate it or it is garbage.
