What are the downsides of this compared to the other logitech webcams? e.g. the other 920s https://newegg.com/Product/Produc...X90DXJ7020
This page makes the 920s pro seem deeply superior in the platforms it supports, however I'd imagine they all support the same platforms and likely the same features. Has anyone who's done deeper research have any thoughts?

Bought one a week ago as a shell shocker. Same price. C920e is the same as a c920s but part of their mass deployment business line of products.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the hardware on all the C9XX series are almost identical with only their firmware being tuned differently.
The main difference is the software to control the cameras.

C930e, C925e, C920e use Logi Tune.
Logi Tune only has basic settings like focus, color presets, and zoom.

Streamcam, C922 Pro Stream, C920s, Brio 4K Pro use Logitech Capture.
Logitech Capture has all the basic settings and many streaming options such as text overlay, aspect ratio editing, adding filters, and more.

I don't know if either software can detect other webcams outside of their official supported list (I don't have any logitech webcam to test).

I am a little curious, has Newegg gone downhill or have they always been bad? I haven't bought from them in probably 5 years (however long it has been since I built my last computer). At the time it worked out and I didn't have any issues. Was fast shipping and decent customer service.

They went downhill after they were sold, or more precisely a specific company purchased a controlling stake.

I guess is a mixed bag...they have good prices sometimes, but it ships in a month and all you save is 5 or 10 dollars in comparison with other retailers

Just FYI, I bought this for a Mac with the M1 chip and none of the Logitech software is compatible with that hardware so you will be limited to using it with the FaceTime app and of course it works with the video conferencing apps as well. Not a problem for me personally but it's a common issue.
