These are also available via the HBO Max streaming service in the US if anyone wants to watch them that way.

Includes both English and Japanese audio for both.
I hate to say it, but digital Anime has less in the way of features than BRs and DVDs.

There are very few that are Movies Anywhere (MA) compatible, and these are not exceptions. So you are limited in where you are permitted watch it.
The video may be downsampled to FHD (720p) by your ISP (especially mobile ones), based on congestion and your plan, your monthly usage, and whether or not your provider is using a CDN server within your ISP's network.
No dual language versions - you're locked in to dubbed or subbed. Their reasoning is that the Japanese version has different title screens and so therefore counts as a different sale (yeah, right).

You can your anime to get around all this, but if you your anime and talk about it here, the mods will delete your comments.
Good deal for Weathering With You. I've seen the subbed version in the theatre and dubbed at home.

There are cameos of the main characters from Your Name. [amazon.com] in this movie too.

#1 MA has a cost so not every studio, including smaller ones will be onboard. That's just the reality.
#3. At least Gkids is now including both audio tracks through a single purchase on VUDU, Youtube, and Itunes on more recent releases. Weathering With You Being one of these.

The dual language option is why I typically buy discs for my anime, especially TV shows.

While I'm not a big fan of Funimation's service, they do support both languages and allow you to enable/disable English CC, even when watching the English dubs.

If you have Funimation digital copies from movie discs, some of them redeem both versions on Vudu.

Easy way to reduce that cost would be to let is download our own movies. But it's not about providing us a good service, is it? It's about controlling out content.

For those that've come across "Weathering With You" by way of seeing the excellent "Your Name", be forewarned: Weathering is not nearly as good as Your Name, in my opinion. Weathering has a thin plot that falls apart under any logical scrutiny, and the one dimensional characters fail to act plausibly over the course of the movie.

I totally agree with that. Still a relatively good anime movie and very detailed and beautiful depiction of real-world sceneries, but the plot is rather weak and it pales in comparison to Your Name.
