Who here knows anything about electricity?

OK, so I have a mining rig that uses about 1,000watts.
I'm thinking about getting a solar generator to power just this rig.
What's the math? I can get something like this
THIS [amazon.com]
Which should work fine for the wattage needed. But how long will it's 300,000mAh battery last me overnight or on cloudy days?

Leo Laport Set up a rig when no one knew anything about Bit Coin I think probably 10 years ago and plucked out 5 or 6 coins overnight. The jackass didn't think anything of it and forgot the password to his wallet....
I guess thats why he's "The Tech Guy"...

The device you linked advertises 1100Wh (watt-hours). If your rig pulls 1000w constant, in one hour it uses 1000Wh. So that battery would last you a bit more than one hour.

That's assuming the device would even power your rig. It technically advertises 1000w output, but if you're right at that max I wouldn't expect it to live very long.

To run your rig for about 10 hours (10kWh), just batteries will run you about $3k (for lead-acid, probably more like $10k for lithium).

Assumptions for 100% runtime off Solar and Battery:
- Power consumption (PC):1kW
- Usable sunlight to charge battery AND power the miner (MSR): 7 hours
- Miner run time on battery (MBR): 17 hours

Battery capacity needed = PC x MBR = 1 kW x 17 hours = 17kWh

Solar size needed = [(PC x MBR) + (PC x MSR)] / MSR = [(1kW x 17h) + (1kW x 7h)] / 7h = 3.5kW

This would be the MINIMUM IMO, you would want to be more conservative to run 100% off grid. It's a lot of money and maybe worth it if bitcoin goes to the moon or whatever, I am no expert so I may be wrong.

I've been viewing a lot of YouTube channels about Boondocking in your RV. Meaning you are out in the middle of BFE without any water or hook ups of any sort.

The majority of the 'tubers all say to get 2x the solar panels of your calculated need to allow for cloudy, raining, partially shaded locations. This also allows for the amount of daylight for the given time of year so that you still are generating enough solar during the winter months with shorter days.
