Bought one of these at $100 about two months ago. I believe this is the cheapest nespresso machine available.

Big fan so far. I'm not much of a kcup guy, but I bought a reusable cup for when I don't feel like brewing in a pour over. The nespresso pods are pretty special though. I wouldn't pull anything other than a 2oz shot (has options for more on the same cup), but it's been pretty great having decent espresso at home (as far as my reading on the manufacturer, it does reach 19 bars of pressure, though I feel it does consistently over-extract, buy a lighter roast).
Find me something in your house that isn't. Almost everything is made in China. That's no longer a relevant point.
Bought this about 2 months ago at $100. Wanted to replace a Starbucks Verismo unit that did both coffee and espresso. Have really liked this maker. Did a deep dive on reviews myself and found that folks should try to get authentic keurig k-cups. There are pods that are "k-cup compatible" but have a different type of plastic (recycling number 5 vs 6 or something) which can result in the grounds leaking. I have only had one bad pod in about 200 so far. Espresso is great as well. At $70 this is a steal IMO. To the point above, I use 16 oz mugs and they get rather full, so I could easily see the 10 & 12 oz settings being high. You can simply watch your mug and press the coffee button again to stop the stream fwiw.

Reviews shows 2 issues mainly by most of the reviewers
1. Coffee is not too hot
2. K-Cups at 10oz and 12oz settings spill over

I am a big fan as well because I find I like having the easy flexibility of either type of coffee. Both brew really nicely, although reusable k cups are a bit of a mess. Sensitive touch buttons — but you can stop the brewing easily as stated above. Also automatically flashes when machine needs descaling. Highly recommend.

Hmmm. It may be time to get a sams membership.

I'm curious if anyone can compare this unit to a dedicated Nespresso machine!

I have the inissa that's been going strong for years now but I thought about getting a back up.

It is not the cheapest Nespresso maker. Typically, Nespresso machines go on sale around mother's and father's day and Christmas. When that happens, some machines cost less than $100 without a frother. I got a Breville with a frother for $100 at Target around father's day a few years ago.

Also pre-pandemic, Amazon had a few Nespresso compatible machines from Chinese companies. I bought one for $59. It was OK, but louder and larger than the Breville. I returned the knock off and kept the Breville.

Would this make better coffee than a rather recent ninja? I have a breville espresso maker, but it's starting to crap out on me so I been looking at getting a new one.

Not the cheapest Nespresso machine imo, I bought the Essenza Mini from Target for $64 2 years ago, still going strong.
I'm still happy with my Essenza Mini so will not bite, however, for the price/feature/performance ratio this is definitely much better. $6 more but incredibly versatile. Thumb up

I got in on that same deal too. Has yours started to let grinds into the cup? Mine had a ton and I ran various water cycles to try and flush it out, but it still has a little. I read you can't use vinegar to help it as you can with other coffee makers.

Some little ground in the cup is normal honestly, because there is no filter to hold the coffee. However if you encountered excessive amount, maybe you let the capsule door opened too soon? Wait a couple seconds after the brewing cycles stopped can fix that.

It's been so long that I used it before I started to again that I don't remember, I will keep an eye on that and see if it helps.
