Christ the amount of disinformation on this site is astounding. From someone that works "in the field" specifically in the medical area (all those nasty plastics that probably save millions of lives daily, heck I only have a doctorate in the field what do I know), the resin that is used in these types of containers is a copolyester, specifically a resin called Tritan[eastman.com]by Eastman. There are no BPA or BPA analogs used in the production of copolyester, unlike PC. (this is a coPET, where some physical-property-modifying component has been added to the polymer chains of PET to make it more resilient; FWIW PET is what your water and soda bottles are made from) Therefore there cannot be any more BPA/BPS "left" in the resin (container) to do any leeching.
The gasket is made of SPC and ironically is in the same class of resins that is used by a few of my customers in things such as blood bag liners and IV's.
Don't disagree with everything you said, but that in particular seems like a pretty tall claim.
I don't think it to tall of a claim. You have to remember that our government approved and science approved food pyramid that supposedly led to heath was the root cause of our obesity epidemic. We have close to 80% of our youth not even fit for even cannon fodder due to this. The numbers dead there are staggering. Thank god after about thirty years of ignoring the real since they were quietly updated somewhat.
I see consumer after consumer ingesting things of unknown origin coming from overseas in the name of health. I have personally witnessed declines in once perfectly healthy individuals once they get on the healthy or clean eating kick. Previously strong people get into a cycle of taking some new fad food or supplement that only leads to them feeling worse and then they move onto another. It could be the even just the stress of their constant worry about danger and everything being unhealthy is what weakens them but I have seen people that were thriving ending up looking like they had been in a prIson camp. With many that I witness it almost fits the definition of neurosis or hypochondria which themselves can lead to bad health. It is not healthy to constantly worry about your health and what you eat.
Related to that we see people declining proven and real medical treatments of disease to seek out some all natural supposedly safer process that they can buy off Amazon or pay the neighborhood charlatan to administer.
Add in the science that shows that plant based healthy diets are far from from healthy and lead to infertility along with shrunken brains and gonads.
This stuff is pervasive and the industry that feeds it is about as cruel and callous as can be and only interested in dollars. Dig down into some of the communities and forums that are promoting natural health and you will see insanity on a level that is disturbing.
Read through some of the stories here and you can see the death and horror that this incessant promotion of natural or alternative health has brought. 368,379 people killed, 306,096 injured and over $2,815,931,000 in economic damages is not a small figure and I believe the website has stopped counting some while ago.
1) ALL plastics/resins
2) They are endocrine disruptors
3) There is no safe level
There are no safe levels of sunlight, You plan on staying in forever?
You have to balance risk assessment. When you get down to worrying about numbers like this .OOOOOOOOOOO6% while ignoring the much larger and real risk you face everyday your life is out of balance. At that level the risk that the small worry brings you is likely higher and worse from you heath than what you are worrying about.
Something that points this out quite well is all the fear and panic about Roundup. The risk there is equal to the risk you get from drinking hot beverage or working night shifts once in awhile. Where is the panic about coffee and tea or the boss asking you to change shifts?
