Christ the amount of disinformation on this site is astounding. From someone that works "in the field" specifically in the medical area (all those nasty plastics that probably save millions of lives daily, heck I only have a doctorate in the field what do I know), the resin that is used in these types of containers is a copolyester, specifically a resin called Tritan [eastman.com]by Eastman. There are no BPA or BPA analogs used in the production of copolyester, unlike PC. (this is a coPET, where some physical-property-modifying component has been added to the polymer chains of PET to make it more resilient; FWIW PET is what your water and soda bottles are made from) Therefore there cannot be any more BPA/BPS "left" in the resin (container) to do any leeching.

The gasket is made of SPC and ironically is in the same class of resins that is used by a few of my customers in things such as blood bag liners and IV's.

I love this series. They don't stain or retain odor, and it gets a really nice seal. We never microwave these (or really any plastic) but I do run them through the dishwasher every time. I don't really need another of the really big one, but I could use the rest of the set. This seems like a good price even if I don't need the biggest size.

I'm a student. Which means I tend to not clean my dishes in time. Multiple times. So mold develops and acidic foods like tomato pasta sauce stays... For a while. These smells and mold get cleaned out in just one wash. 0 stains and nothing left over. The only problem I had was trouble cleaning underneath the locking handles as smaller sugary foods sometimes get lodged in between the lid and the locking mechanism. You won't have this problem if you don't leave your food in the container for a month. They are also air tight and does not expand much from the gas trapped inside. Pop open the lock and you have exposed a hole to vent the container easy for microwaving.

Missing from this entirely but found in the the Costco 18 pc are:
the medium deep 4.7 cup Costco set has two
This is the size I use most followed by the medium reg 3,2 cup and the small 1.3 cup

No use for the tiny 0.5 cup
Large 9.6 cup gets used mostly for freezer or large bags of nuts or dried fruits that don't need access often. The lid takes more work than suits me for frequent access.

No, never microwave! They melt.

For salads and veggies I need a crisper that will breath, For that I haven't found anything better then the Rubbermaid Commercial which have easy access and are indestructible.

The flip lock latches actually come off for cleaning. There is a cut-out on one side of the pivot hole.

A soapy finger inserted under the seal will clean thar area well even with fat fingers, I think the silicon softens after a while.

Brilliance glass is also now available.

Target has the 4.7 cup 1.1 liter essential size for $8 ea but as diavolo33 points out the Walmart 18 pc is a better deal.

Target $17.99 deal is still missing the above but could be a good starter set for some.

No rhyme or reason on the pricing. Target 3.2 cup $4.50 ea. In the 5 pack raises the cost to $5.60ea. Individually $7.20

Never a deal to buy a set with un-needed sizes. I add up the lowest cost of sizes need then make sure the set doesn't cost more.
