My apologies!! As big a fan of Costco, I have always stuck with buying big purchases from them. But, I truly believe the All state Costco insurance is absolutely useless since it doesn't cover accidents. I got the Cx 4 months back and let me tell you Oled screens are lot more fragile then regular LEDs. Something hit the TV when moving and it got a tiny crack ( hardly 1mm). I had just completed 3 months and neither Costco nor LG were willing to help. Oled's don't even start once this happens, unlike LEDs. So if you have an option, I highly recommend you buy from Best Buy or anywhere else with 'Accident Protection'. That really is the best you can do for such a large investment. Because replacing the screen by yourself is more expensive that buying the TV itself.

Best Buy warranty covers burn in. But runs about 500 extra for tv this price and doesn't cover accidents.

Fair point about Costco....get yourself a Sony OLED and buy accidental coverage...skip burn-in coverage since it doesn't appear to happen on Sony oleds... 😉

FYI If you have Verizon phone service you can get Verizon home protect which is thru Asurion for all your devices in your house except for cell phones for $25 a month and that way make a claim on your tv for $100 and you are fully covered for accidents on your tv just a little help

You can always buy insurance on it from outside. The Allstate plan I believe is included "for free" with the TV given the price is almost the same as price at other sales.

And? I suppose you not liking their model means you can circumvent the way they make money? Can I have your salary because I don't think you work hard enough?
Please, get some friends who think differently than you do on important issues.
Your post is exactly why you should not be ranting on SD before you had your morning coffee.

Love seeing the price come down a little more each time. Waiting for 77" to hit the same price my C8 65" was on clearance.

The problem with being on SlickDeals all the time is that you're eventually going to want an OLED. Once you have one, you'll want a bigger OLED.

I wonder if you'd like a shot to try this post again. Let's give it a shot- I'll pretend I never read it. You can type something, evaluate it to see if you've made baseless assumptions to confirm your worldview or were maybe funny, and try again. Can't wait to see it! Good luck!

I had to do that with a vacuum once, I even asked the manager "what's to stop me from buying one right now and returning it with this receipt", she said "nothing, go ahead".

Really dumb, they wouldn't price adjust a Dyson I just bought because of black friday pricing but their return policy basically allows me to do whatever I want, what a waste of everyone's time.
It is not dumb from the business point of view. The intention is to prevent the customer from abusing the system. This is also why 99% of the credit cards on the market have removed the price protection benefit because people abuse it so much during the holiday/black friday sale.

By allowing the Costco customer to buy at a lower price and return the item with the higher price, Costco has avoided to officially establish price adjustment benefit. This will prevent Costco from losing too much money on the merchandise (the main revenue income for Costco is through membership). You also have to consider that Costco reserve the right to cancel your membership if you have a high percentage return rate.

What Costco should do is price adjust for only a certain item with a certain dollar amount range and force customers to return the bigger items. That makes it better. Abuse would be limited. If big $3k tv, then force customer to return the item instead of price adjustment. If it is $30 box of cashews, then price adjust.

I had to do that one time. They would not price match tv went down $200. I bought one at the current price and turned right around after getting my receipt checked. I returned the new tv in the box with my old receipt with the higher price. They had to have known what I just did and didn't say anything.
I'd just politely ask to talk to a mgr if that was the case. They are the ones that can prevent dumb stuff like that.

Bought this for $3200 about a month ago. Went back to Sams Club the other day and they had them for $2000. Actually found a nice manager to reimburse the $1200!! They had the 65" ones for $899!!

Which city/state does Sams club have new 65" OLED for $899?

Anyone near a Video Only call them first. I stopped in to see if they would match this price. I got the 77" C1(newer model) for $2999 with an extended 5 yr warranty.

YMMV of course.

Bullshit. You didn't get this TV for $2000 and they most certainly do not sell 65" OLED for $900.
