My apologies!! As big a fan of Costco, I have always stuck with buying big purchases from them. But, I truly believe the All state Costco insurance is absolutely useless since it doesn't cover accidents. I got the Cx 4 months back and let me tell you Oled screens are lot more fragile then regular LEDs. Something hit the TV when moving and it got a tiny crack ( hardly 1mm). I had just completed 3 months and neither Costco nor LG were willing to help. Oled's don't even start once this happens, unlike LEDs. So if you have an option, I highly recommend you buy from Best Buy or anywhere else with 'Accident Protection'. That really is the best you can do for such a large investment. Because replacing the screen by yourself is more expensive that buying the TV itself.

Best Buy warranty covers burn in. But runs about 500 extra for tv this price and doesn't cover accidents.

The costco citi card still extends the warranty by two additional years, right?
Whatever you see on Costco website is applicable. There is nothing more than that from Citi.
In other posts, I have seen people posting that they bought something using Costco Visa card from any store considering that Citi will provide additional warranty, that is not the case anymore.

You guys need to stop with the bad info. Citi ONLY offers warranty extension on purchases made on the Costco or Costco Business cards. Does not need to be from Costco. This benefit is still effective as of today.

"Warranties run out. Get an extra 24 months added to your warranty when you purchase items at least in part with your Citi card and/or your Costco credit card reward certificate. In the event of a covered failure, the item will be repaired or you will be reimbursed up to the amount charged on your Citi card (including Costco credit card reward certificate) or the cost to replace the item, whichever is less, up to $10,000."

  • Coverage begins when the manufacturer's warranty, or an extended warranty you bought, expires.
  • In no event will total coverage exceed seven years from the purchase date.

Thank you! So for this tv purchase...it's 2 year manufacturer + 3 year All State + 2 year extended warranty if using costco citi card = total of 7 year warranty, correct?

Did you check with Citi? I called and confirmed that they stopped providing extended warranty after 2019.

This is an interesting claim. Who should I/we believe, you (and/or the CSR you spoke with), or the Costco/Citi card (current) information page?

Read for yourself: https://www.cardbenefits.citi.com...d-Warranty

This is not a PDF link that's expired. It is the information made available on their own website. Very conflicting to what you're saying wouldn't you say? Not sure what's up here.

Total is correct. Except year 2 may be provided by Costco Concierge.

Thanks. I went with this deal. I like that the warranty is 7 years and I'd rather deal with costco if anything goes wrong (even though all state and citi are really covering the warranty...costco has been able to help me in the past). Deals seem to be coming up daily now but I've been waiting for a while and don't want to wait until the Cx's go out of stock.

I was also considering the Gx from beach camera but didn't trust the warranty provider.

You should check with Costco, not Citi. We all know that Citi does not provide warranty extension on their regular cards. The question here is about the COSTCO card issued by Citi. Stop conflating the two.

Citi made a special deal with Costco to obtain the right to be their exclusive card provider. The process by which Costco dropped AmEx and signed with Citi is a well known story. The original Citi deal includes the warranty extension on all purchases made with the Costco card, 2 yrs for Costco purchases and 1 yr for purchases at other stores. Citi cannot unilaterally change that without Costco's approval.

And, IF Costco approved that change it would be BIG news and announced clearly on Costco's website. No such announcement has been made, and the Costco website still shows the extra warranty. That is the last word on this.

So, stop with the misinformation obtained from a level-1 customer service associate. Nobody in their right mind would believe you over a clear statement made on Costco's own website.

It's against my principles to spend this much on a TV but after walking past this one every time I went to my local Costco I began to lust after it. Said to myself "Self, if this ever gets < $3K you should get it." This was close enough. It's going into a fairly dark nook sheltered from direct sunlight so the OLED deep-black technology of fully shutting off pixels should really... *not* shine. Delivery still a few days off, so will have to see what it's like once it's in place.

Is the size difference if this vs 65" worth the $1K+ price difference?

My costco delivery is tomorrow, but I haven't heard anything about it.
Tracking shows it's in transit DOCK received. How likely is it coming tomorrow? Am I supposed to get a call first?

Depends on how much of a discount you get and how long the floor model was there? They turn off their tv when store closes every night, so that is a given we know...some comfort...laugh out loud. I assume you're talking about the 77"?

nope, but many noted LG has replaced ones with burn-in for customers of previous models...so fwiw.
