I finally spoke to someone that escalated. They refunded $35 to my original purchase and sold me a router (shipped to home) for $36.75 - it's not worth fighting over $1.75 in the end but they are fulfilling the order essentially. Just took asking to escalate it while speaking to a phone rep.

Got the $75 GC today. I probably wait for Ryobi days to buy the router as part of a combo deal. Meanwhile, I like to get the random orbital router instead of the sheet router since it is better for my new DIY projects. Can I do this without receipt- will HD let me do a exchange?

This was my first slick deal ever and like everyone else I didn't receive the trim router so I called and they said it was on back order and they would sent it from Ryobi. Then I went on this forum and figured out to text their customer service line and within 2 hrs I had my $75 e-gift card and have both the sanders. Hopefully my good streak can continue!!

Like a lot of persons here, I also got two sanders, but instead of a gift card, I received a full refund to my original payment method.

But you know what would make it an even slicker deal? To get the router at a later date.

I had to contact HD three times to get the refund, but on the second time I contacted them, they told the router would arrive in a different shipment. I know several persons in this thread had the same response as me, but no one has received the router so far. Let's hope it's true.

I'm sure these must be tagged in some way to indicate they are not for retail individual sale. There are two barcodes, the second one probably identifies that it's part of a set. Otherwise people would just buy these 3-pack deals and return all 3 individually at retail price for profit.

So no you likely won't be able to do an exchange.

I was told that also and I 99% believe that nothing was ever going to ship later. There are over 900 in stock today. Could have shipped out with everything else.

You are incorrect. There is nothing stopping anyone from returning these items for instore credit. These are in retail boxes meant for individual sale. The 2nd barcode is the serial number which is not tied to the purchase in any way.

I have purchased online only Ryobi deals before that came in non-retail brown cardboard boxes. Those could not be returned for instore credit since the stores don't sell them that way.

Yes you can return the set together, but you can't return one router for $40 store credit, return the other router for another $40 store credit, and return the router (if you had it) for another $75 credit. You can't buy a set of tools and return each individually.
