Does Microcenter have any plans to expand to Northern California? There are 2 empty fry's buildings they can likely rent for cheap near me Smilie

I have two Micro Centers near me and both are within an hour. My home state store (Yonkers NY) charges me $76 tax on $850 and the Paterson NJ store charges $28. NJ store is in an "enterprise zone". I almost went to local Best Buy for the $100 off this weekened, but with tax I would have paid total of $970. At NJ MC today I paid $878 for new Mac Air so it was worth the trip. Anyone in lower NY should hit the NJ store. I was glad to see MC had no restock fee

I wanted space gray but seeing the silver in person changed my mind. The mac silver is nicer than other makers (HP etc) version of silver. With a silver body the dark keys have more relief in low light

There used to be a Microcenter in Santa Clara in the Mercado plaza (AMC theaters). Not sure why they shut it down because that was the ultimate place to go when you need parts for your PC. I disliked Fry's because of their crap service, but like you said, without Fry's they might have a decent business plan again.

Last time I checked they will if there's a Micro Center within 25 miles of the Best Buy you're matching at. However, I've been turned down at one BB because the item was listed as "1 per household", like this listing. Another BB didn't care. Depends who you get.

Payboo card makes it cheaper on B&H since this would come to $920 with tax. And B&H will ship it. I don't live within a million miles of a Micro Center.

They shut down that location because the rent was raised a crazy amount. They said they would look for a new location immediately but I guess they never found one. I know that location did well for them.

BestBuy won't price match. Due to "limited quantity" (1 per customer) on MicroCenter's site, it is not eligible for BestBuy's price match policy. Damn weasels.

Check BestBuy OpenBox. I got a "Satisfactory " for $550 on saturday. It had 2 battery cycles and 55 days left to get applecare. One scratch on it that I could not find.
