The battery life of the Galaxy. As much as I thought the screen would be a world of difference changing, the 1440p screen on the Spin is amazing, it's 3/2 as well so web pages have more room, etc. The ports as well are very versatile on the Spin as well. I'm used to a chromebook having awesome battery and standby time and was very disappointed with the Galaxy's.

A Linux container running a Virtual Machine for windows 7 or 10, is going to have incredibly bad lag. I can imagine lots of driver issues with thunderbolt, Bluetooth, USB devices, hdmi, etc.

I decided on this over the Galaxy Chromebook after having both in house, the speakers are the only weak spot I've noticed, very low volume compared to pixel slate or even an iPhone 11 Pro Max.

These Spin 713 refurbs on ebay keep dropping in price. My guess is they're trying to get rid of extra stock before the 2021 model roles out...maybe June 2021.

I wouldn't worry about that. It's called Planned Obsolescence. And you can buy the new one as soon at it comes out. Right to Repair bill is largely ignored by civilians. Google's official response is 6.5 years of support from the first prototype. So roughly 5 years support or less. Sometimes a bonus 2 years is added.

Yes makes more sense to buy a Windows 10 notebook. Kind of the point I was making.
