I don't know to be honest. Picked up an acceptable iPad Air 4 for my Mom as a mother's day/ Birthday day gift. Was able to add Apple Care +, and the only issue was the Type C cord being used. But everything else looked like new without issues.

I took it to the Apple store to compare after reading a review mentioning the same thing. Looks literally exactly the same brand new, but the fake "leather" was a bit tougher, and the graining was larger.

Then, months in there's no patina whatsoever (I have the brown one). The corners have gotten a weird artificial orange-y color.
