Is Parallels free? I would use one of these, if I could have windows on it.

Bought this last time it was on sale. Fast and a bargain. Just be aware that limited wireless printers work with this Mac mini and I had to buy a new laser printer.

FWIW. I have a 16gb/2tb version of this. The machine is great except for one massive issue with Bluetooth. My AirPods refuse to work with it and my mouse needs to be repaired all the time. And it's a software issue not hardware on all m1 macs it seems

Just returned the one I bought a couple of weeks ago. Not because of the price, but because of the bugs! It would cause my TV to flicker (via HDMI) and intermittent connectivity issues when using my Logitech wireless keyboard.

Apparently these are fairly common problems. Google it before you dive in! Otherwise, the computer is definitely as snappy as they say, although I will wait until they have worked out some of the issues with this model.

My MacBook Pro only has 8GB RAM and is more than adequate for most daily tasks. This system is even more efficient so unless you are video editing or other more memory intense processes you are absolutely fine getting 8GB.

Those who say it's not enough without even explanation are just ignorant.
The opinions are pretty split online - a lot of content creators say that the 8GB model is a great video editing machine, especially if you're not working with 6k+ footage or exotic codecs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UliJxItLw3I

Other creators say that 16GB is mandatory. Bottom line is that an 8GB model is going to be more than good enough for you to stitch together your vacation videos.

I do hear there is some debate on whether it's adequate for content creation. Though personally if that was a pretty big need in a computer for me, I wouldn't bother taking the risk of 8GB and pay the premium to go higher
