How exactly is an 8 core 16 thread 4800H a low-end processor?

https://static.techspot.com/artic.../16-p.webp
Hasn't been many 2060 with a Ryzen 7 and 16gb ram for under $1000 recently probably because they're getting discontinued(or soon to be for 3060 and 5000 CPU's). Nothing looks lacking or needing of additional updates.

The fact that you have to wait for at least a few weeks if not more would be my only hesitation.
I owned an EVOO gaming laptop for almost a year. It was fantastic, my only minor complaint was the mechanical keyboard key depth seemed a little shallow. Temps were great; build quality was great.

The article you linked was for super cheap laptops, the kit they used in my EVOO from a year or two ago was a very good Tongfeng chasis with a 9th gen Intel and a 1660TI.

I'm think of returning my G5 15 SE and getting this. There's a lot of CPU throttling issues on the Dell plus this has more RAM and bigger HD. Both seems to run hot but I'm not a big time gamer, so that's no really my concern. The 5600m and the RTX 2060 reviews from what I've seen are pretty much both equal. This seems like a winner overall compared to the Dell I have.

I think the nvidia is more power efficient.

If you are okay with Evoo brand compared to Dell, this one is a better laptop than Dell G5 SE. This is based on a tried and tested Tongfang chassis, which is used by Eluktronics RP 15 as well. The cooling is far better in this one and it looks better than G5 SE, which looks like some gaming laptop from 5 years ago.

I've had this for over a month now and am definitely satisfied for the price.

The only problem thus far that I've been unable to solve is the inability to enable Virtual Machine Platform to run WSL2. Enabling that causes a bootloop and I'm forced to disable it again in Safe Mode.

Anyone else see this issue or is it something unique to my configuration?

Is this upgradable to Win 11 hardware-wise? Is it safe to bet the computers that came out last 2-3 years are upgradable?

yes you can, it requires you buy a cable but it comes with a cage for a ssd sata style drive. It's on left side of the battery. The connection is located right next to the battery cable the tiny white slot next to the blue tabbed keyboard and touchpad cable.

So it has both an extra Nvme slot and a spot for a sata style drive?

Im looking around for a new laptop for my engineering service business where I use cad. Curren5ly using an old Lenovo yoga 2 13 with 8 Gb an I7 2.6 ghz a 256 ssd and it works pretty well. Struggles multitasking and if I embed a pdf in the cad it really bogs down. I love the build quality of the Lenovo. This is a 2014 model. Has integrated intel 4400 graphics and can't add more ram

Would this be the right kind of upgrade or is this brand gonna feel like a cheap dell in a couple years?

Suggestions of alternates if this isn't a good fit?

I do not g@me at all but I major multitask. I also do Christmas light show sequencing and edit video with wondershare for my YouTube cooking channel. Thought appreciated.

Oh I also want to easily run 2x 32" monitors.

Yes. You can have up to 3 total drives.
Layout inside looks exactly like this

So i bought this laptop and it actually seems that the power limit for this 2060 is 90 watts and not 115 watts as previously claimed in this thread. Looking at hwinfo, the power seems to constantly cap at 90 watts. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though.

I can't believe this deal is still going. I'm very tempted by it even though it's a little more than I want to spend on a laptop since I'm trying to save more money for my future desktop build. I kind of wish I had bought the last black friday budget gaming laptop, but a lot of people expressed a dislike of it.

I'm still reading through the comments, but I'm wondering how people like this laptop and how long they have had it.
I didn't game on this laptop, but have it for almost a month. For the price of the laptop and the performance ratio, I'd suggest going for a current generation of Ryzen 7 5800H and RTX 3060. Unless you're on a tight budget, this $900 laptop is actually decent with previous generation of Ryzen 7 4800H and RTX 2060. But this laptop price/performance isn't doing well for me at the moment. Support for this laptop is close to non-existent from the manufacturer. I'm comparing all of this with a Dell G16 Ryzen Edition. The price is more, but it's affordable with NiceHash QuickMiner... I can confirm that it's rated at 90 W from NiceHash OCTune. I'm not sure regarding the 115 W claim.

WalMart website says 4.4 lbs. I had the HP Omen with the same 4800h and a 1660 ti at 4.6 lbs. It ran very cool at gaming. I bought that open box at BB for $600 then added RAM to get to 16gb. When VIPOutlet has this $800, I'll give it serious thought, but not at a grand.
HP Omen is complete garb. I have had nothing but thermal issues with HP laptops. Sent several back for repairs (4 times to be exact) and the issues were never fixed. This most recent time they sent it back with a broken HDMI port. Not to mention customer service is basically non existant.

Nice things about tong-fang based laptops is modding, the same platform is used by alot of other makers, you can actually mod it and under volt it to add more power.
