How exactly is an 8 core 16 thread 4800H a low-end processor?

Hasn't been many 2060 with a Ryzen 7 and 16gb ram for under $1000 recently probably because they're getting discontinued(or soon to be for 3060 and 5000 CPU's). Nothing looks lacking or needing of additional updates.

The fact that you have to wait for at least a few weeks if not more would be my only hesitation.

I owned an EVOO gaming laptop for almost a year. It was fantastic, my only minor complaint was the mechanical keyboard key depth seemed a little shallow. Temps were great; build quality was great.

The article you linked was for super cheap laptops, the kit they used in my EVOO from a year or two ago was a very good Tongfeng chasis with a 9th gen Intel and a 1660TI.

I've been happy overall with my LP6 from late 2019. I might even upgrade to a AMD based EVOO when 17 inch models are available. If you aren't technical or worry about warranty I suggest buying an extended warranty.

Evoo is the house brand for walmart. I'm concerned about the build quality, lifespan, and warranty claims based on an article I found here: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2...-bad-news/ Can anyone comment?

I bought the i5+2060 EVOO back in November, I've kitted it out with a 2tb nvme and 32gb of RAM. Is it worth buying this, swapping the parts and flipping the older notebook for some cash back?

The Ryzen processor is extremely more powerful than a i5 so while you might lose a little in battery life you gain a ton in performance. So if you want a more capable CPU than yes.

Even so, imagine all that work just to upgrade the CPU.. Most people don't even need that type of increase. Imo, not worth the upgrade if you already have something working, since technology moves fast, the price + amount of speed probably isn't worth it for 95% of the population..

Anyone familiar with the nits on this panel? Checks all my boxes, would prefer a 1440 but it's a great price!

Do you mean the Gateway? I don't think EVOO made an i5 with 2060. If so then yes, it'd be an easy flip in today's market and you'd be getting a much better machine.

WalMart website says 4.4 lbs. I had the HP Omen with the same 4800h and a 1660 ti at 4.6 lbs. It ran very cool at gaming. I bought that open box at BB for $600 then added RAM to get to 16gb. When VIPOutlet has this $800, I'll give it serious thought, but not at a grand.

Honestly to swap the parts only takes a few minutes, so not a big hassle. Selling the laptop yeah that gets a bit more tedious but price wise the upgrade would end up costing him very little since the old one can still be sold for close to new pricing.
