Can vouch for this. I was at staples yesterday and picked up a bunch, they were 2 bucks each for the popular titles like sorry, trouble, scrabble, etc...

Went in for TSA pre-check prints, left with a stack of random board games as gifts (already have most of them).

I believe it would be in store only and YMMV. Found the same clearance items at the Brea, CA store, so I am guessing it is nationwide.

Are these primarily entry level games like Monopoly or do they have anything that a board game "enthusiast" (i can't think of the right phrase) might want to play? In other words, is there anything that would rank well on Board Game Geek?

Just a quick search through their offerings on the website and it seems like it's mostly the same old kids games at most retailers (Pie Face, Sorry, Candy Land, etc), 30 versions of Monopoly, 5 versions of Clue, 10 different kinds of chess boards, 50 different colors of poker chips, and a partridge in a pear tree.

The highest BGG rated game is probably 8-player Telestrations but that's just out of shear luck that a party game has a relatively high rating. But overall, not a lot of great options unless you have young children.

Thanks for all the info! That's what I would have guessed but you never know. Sometimes you get stores that you wouldn't immediately think of as "board game stores" that have some decent games. For example Target or Barnes and Noble has had them from time to time.

Not discounted in Brooklyn (Gowanus)… I took a photo of the selection if I can figure out how to post.

Telestrations with CAH cards is a great combo.

Damn,… No dice for me (no pun intended). Warrenton, Oregon has them at full price. Too bad too, I've been looking for some board games on sale for a while.
