Great bike for someone wanting to try out mountain biking. Its a good starter bike, could actually be upgraded if you wanted to and is fairly respectable out of the box. Good modern frame geometry and cool features, just probably won't hold up to hard abuse.
Its very heavy. Its twice as much as it was pre Covid . Bike prices are insane. Costco has cheaper imo
You must be confusing this with something else. The Axum was a new model for 2020 and always cost $399 for the standard version and $499 for the dropper version. Weight for the actual bike is in the low 30s, which is not bad at all for the price. Don't look at shipping weight.
Don't get me wrong, pleanty of reasons not to buy this. Frame is decent, but it's all trash components that will never function perfectly and go out of adjustment frquently.
An actual decent beginner MTB would be a Giant Talon 2 for $600. The 2021 version is also 1x. Entry level but quality components, hydro brakes, good geometry.
How's this option for someone just using it to get around town and the occasional few like ride?
i would look into a street / road bike instead of a wanna be mountain bike. mountain bike tires and suspension suck up a lot of your energy. you will be able to go on longer rides with a road bike.
is this bike stocked in stores? I was looking to pick up the red drop post version or black non drop post but currently sold out online don't see how to check stock in stores
