This is a great printer. I have this printer. Refillable ink is the way to go. I'm not going to name companies, but Ink Cartridges are like ticking time bombs. If you rarely print, it will force you to replace the cartridge, if I recall correctly, yearly... So money down the drain if you don't print much. We moderately use the printer for school related stuff. So far had the printer for 2 plus years and hadn't had to buy ink for it.

Luckily both times epson replaced the printers with the newer model no questions asked even though I was outside of the warranty period, so their customer service is pretty stellar.
My current one is starting to show head misalignment and no matter how many times I clean and auto align the head, it is still visible on all pages, and it doesn't pull paper from the lower expansion paper tray anymore...
Debating on trying to go through another warranty claim or just getting a new one altogether with the cartridge-less refillable ink.

I have 19 in service.. some for over 7 years.. and only 1 died (was user error).
A little search will lead you to which model you want (features)
and most have super cheap toner available. replacement drums are also about $20 which isnt needed often.
If you need color I like the idea of this refillable ink jet.

I currently have an HP OfficeJet Pro which does everything great except 110 lb cardstock. From what I've read, the printer would need a rear feeder where it wouldn't need to bend the paper so it would be a straight pass through.
