I do like this tablet... BUT here are some of my concerns.

1. Updates... I have had a Lenovo tablet in the past and I did like the CLEAN OS (I like it much more then Samsung) but will Lenovo give us updates to the newer OS? And why is it coming in Android 10 when Android 11 has been around for so long?

2. Even though I prefer a clean OS, I would rather get a Samsung S7 and they have been on sale for close to this price in the past.

3. The Tablet I am considering is the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 which is suppose to come out in a few months... it will have MUCH MUCH higher specs and should be at this price point BUT WITH NO Widevine L1 support (this Lenovo does have this). And will surely be Android 11 and expect to get updates.

4. Android 11 has a picture in picture mode where you can change the size of the picture in picture, I love this feature. Android 10 does not have this.

In the end... if you do purchase this tablet... I am sure you will enjoy it. Unfortunately it is not for me.

And while more RAM is always better... 4GB is FINE.

It was back in early March or so... Crazy discount at Samsung.com with an EPP, student or military discount on top of that. Then with a trade in of an older tablet, I got the Tab S7+ 512gb with few Galaxy Buds Live for $254 delivered. Traded an older Tab S4.

There was a link that was posted with the discount attached... Search for it. It was a huge deal. Lots of posts...

Could probably still get a good deal with trade and the discounts... Good luck.
I got GS Tab S7+ 512 gb for $272 including tax in the same deal without Trade-in and without Buds live. Before checkout my cart was showing Free Buds and after I placed my order the buds went missing from my order (May be went out of stock). Initially they charged me $448 for S7+, after I raised the complaint about missing buds live they refunded $172 making final value $272. That was the time when Samsung customer service used to be good and they used to say "yes" for whatever you asking. Now Samsung CS become awful and they are saying no to everything. Even order fulfillment process become horrible. Customers need to raise complaint against Samsung with FTC for changing their terms and conditions arbitrarily and ad-hoc manner.

Don't expect an update anytime in the near future. If you do get an update, consider yourself lucky and be pleasantly surprised. Lenovo's update policies are SORELY lacking (if they exist at all).

And unfortunately, I'd say 4GB of RAM is not enough. Unless your tablet is running stock Android, shoot for 6GB. The skins that Lenovo (and Samsung) add on top slow the OS down massively. Even if it seems fine now, it typically doesn't stay that way for long.

I don't see any mention of LTE in the specifications. I assume these models don't come with it?

So I HAD a lenovo Tab 4 and I DID get some updates. Don't think it gave me any OS updates. And again... I really liked how clean the OS was with Lenovo... BUT I AGREE don't count on many updates... but who knows.

And we will agree to disagree. While 6GB is better and 8GB is even better and 12GB is even better... etc...
4GB is fine for every day use... I don't know of anyone that does photo editing and video editing on a tablet (let alone having proper software to do so).

I personally have multiple tablets... 2GB and 4GB tablets... there is almost nothing that my 2GB tablet can not do that my 4GB tablet can do.

And again, I am waiting for the mi pad 5 which will have MUCH MUCH higher specs and should be close to this price and will not have widevine l1 support (which lenovo does have)

So that is a killer deal and you kind of explained why CS now sucks... when enough people took advantage, companies will change.

Good analysis. Will the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 be available in the US? When is it coming out exactly?

I am sure you can buy it at bang goods or ali express.

I don't see it coming to America.... but who knows. The Mi pad 4 was considered one of the best tablets out there... but is now about 2.5 - 3 years old.

I'm hearing in July... but it has not been officially announced.

Just remember... no widevine l1 support, so no netflix, prime or disney or hulu in HD content. I can live with this.

I'm in the market for a new tablet after learning my Samsung A7 won't let me load apps onto the SD card to save space, which I'm currently running out of. Was considering this one (would even opt for the 6GB ram version), but considering the S6, or S7. Don't think I can buck up to the S7+ haha. Opinions of where I should go?

The A7 will allow apps that are capable of being moved, to be moved to the SD card if you are willing to dabble a bit with ADB commands.

The guide was created for a different device, but the steps are the same with only the disk name changing depending on the sd card used.

really interested in this especially the 16:10 aspect ratio. would be even better if it iis 4:3

any deal on the lenovo kickstand/keyboard attachment? that would make the tablet a possible laptop replacement for my wifes birthday.

or at least a good quality case with keyboard that fits nicely.

You'll probably get one major update from Lenovo to Android 11 at some point and that's it.

I've had nothing but glowing reviews of Samsung customer service..just used their services 2 weeks ago again and broad blocks at all. Super impressive follow-up when required, and if none, they rectified the issue and then some on the spot..not too often i say this, but blown away at their service for any kind of company..

I've had nothing but problems with my levono tablet. There are a few of them where you get no notifications for anything except Google apps. I have one of those tablets and it's been 5 months and they still haven't updated the problem

You can consider using a app such as Link2SD to move apps to the SD card. Link2SD was my go-to app to keep old phones and tablets going for people that were running out of space. It requires root but there are others that do not such as App2SD.
