Anyone considering this offer just be prepared to not get your money from Slickdeals. SoFi was very quick to pay. Funny how that works.

Also historical factoid, although they advertise themselves as an online bank upstart. They're actually a rebranding of an older bank called GMAC (The subprime car loan company that used to be owned by GM before it went bankrupt during the last recession). Not a great track record there.

There is not a risk here anyway, you aren't going to lose your deposit, just not get the rebate. Close the account in that case (though again I am certain you will get the rebate if you submit it right).
I had Varo and loved them, high interest rates and decent customer service. But they left Bancorp, became their own bank and everything went to hell. Interest rates fell, bonus rates disappeared and customer service calls entail a 60 minute wait, emails unanswered. Went back to Sofi.

Our last rebate round had over 94% of the approval rate. Less than 6% had issues with tracking where the transaction did not track back to us. When the transaction does not track back to us, it means that one of the listed requirements was not met. What they meant to say is exactly the opposite:
94% WERE NOT going to get or "not eligible" to get the rebate and ONLY 6% got the rebate(maybe)! That's their high approval rating!
