things to be aware of....

the ryobi multitool takes an allen key to swap blades. kind of a pain, but nbd. im not in a race. but the jobplus system doesnt have a storage spot for the allen key. this seems like a pretty silly nitpick till you have to change blades and there isnt an allen key in sight.

also, the base isnt variable speed... which sort of sucks for some of the attachments.

its a cheap way to get a handful of tools, but do note that there are limitations. im not trying to steer anyone away from the deal, but these are things to know before you buy that you might not think about.
Thanks for the heads up! I am actually interested in the multitool, but I'm holding out for the Ryobi Days deal on the 24th, but this would be a reasonable deal if that one wasn't so close!
Consider with what we know about Ryobi Days coming up I believe you can get two 4.0 AH battiers and a free Jobplus for $99 in that sale. This deal comes with a single 1.5 Ah battery.

While the JobPlus isn't the smoothest tool (what most of the complaints are about), I've found the flexibility quite useful. I used to carry a full size recip and other tools with me, and the JobPlus allows me to just carry the swappable heads (recip, rotary, etc) making my travel load out lighter and more compact.

The multi-tool is super handy to have! This is a must-have if you are in the Ryobi space.

The Jobplus base can be paired up with multiple tool heads from the Jobmax line from Ridgid. I picked up the recip saw, jigsaw, right angle drill, shears, and rotary tool heads when they were available at Direct Tools Outlet, and the jobplus base on the last Ryobi Days deal for $99 IIRC. So for around $200, I have all these tools available to me in a bag around 12x12 x6. This is my go bag for bringing tools along to help a friend or if I'm off-roading.

The bare tool is $59 if you don't care about another 1.5 AH battery and charger. It does appear to be a slightly different (downgraded?) model.

I have the same tool (or similar) from Thanks giving 6 tools deal for $200, this tool is really great for sanding and cutting dry wall to install speakers... but being another deal coming in next few weeks not sure how good or great this deal.

This is VERY good to know.

I currently use the B&D Matrix system, and I love it.

I was wondering WHAT i could replace it with, IF I ever needed to (ie, another modular system).

Now I know.....

I own this and a bunch of the jobplus attachments thanks to great deals at dto over the years. I have the metal shears, drywall cutter, jig saw, and the oscillating head. Ironically, the oscillating head is the worst performing attachment of those I listed. Don't buy this for that, get a dedicated unit. The DeWalt kit at $99 delivered is a much better buy for an oscillating tool. I have used my Ryobi on a lot of projects, and the head is getting looser with use. It's very, very annoying.
