Don't bother, I did this, I didn't get a response for a month, and it was "hi swechsler, we hope you have received your reward by now".

Instead, read this thread and contact one of the mods there directly.

Signed up for one of these rebates back in January I think. Never received the rebate.

Doing everything you're doing, but faster.

Also, downloading large files. Backing up large files. Just having a better experience in general. 10 people are streaming in my house? I can still download something fast. I don't have to wait.

It lowkey bothers me when people say they don't need fast internet--I firmly believe you don't know what you need. There were plenty of people who said they don't need internet at all, or that 14.4 or 28.8 or 56k was fine back in the analog modem days. If we listened to these luddites we'd all be stuck with Australia speeds. Progress has been bad enough here, we should have fiber EVERYWHERE by now but the companies are pocketing the taxpayer money literally earmarked for infrastructure because of various loopholes. It's totally bullshit, but the only thing that will change their mind is demand and competition.

Also, due to network effects, the more people with faster internet, the better the experience is for everyone. People and companies won't innovate and provide new services if the capability isn't there, but once it's there, they will. Think high-bandwidth VR applications, cluster computing, extremely high quality streaming (you could even send raw frames), etc.

Push progress forward and get the fastest internet you can reasonably afford. If you're on a tight budget, I get it, I've been there.

But trust me, once you have it, it's hard to go back. It's like upgrading your monitor. Yeah, you can do everything just as well on a 19" monitor, but having a 27" monitor is just really nice. Same deal here.

I am still mad at Verizon for selling out to Frontier here in TX. FIOS as a service is pretty good though. Hard to get any deals unless you're a new signup though. Once the intro period is over... watch your bill increase every month.

To get the best price, usually you need to have someone else sign up at the same address. You can time it so the old contract ends on the same day that the new one begins, but IME you need to call in after placing the order to get that to work properly.
I actually was able to do this with my own name. I called in to cancel and set a cancellation date. Then I waited a day for the cancellation request to process. I then resigned up for the day immediately after the day I cancelled and I got the promo price. This was probably about a year ago. I was surprised that it worked but it did.

You can rejoin under a different email address. With gmail, if you add a period in the username, gmail will ignore it but FIOS will see it as a new address (e.g., "johndoe" and "john.doe" are the same in gmail). I've done this every year.

From there, just follow this to rejoin as yourself: https://slickdeals.net/e/10817763-verizon-fios-200-200-mbps-internet-1-yr-disney-1-mo-youtube-tv-trial-39-99-month-auto-pay-required-new-customers-only?p=125599927#post125599927

Before you pull the trigger on this, consider if you actually need 1gig... this is slickdeals and we are all about saving money!

We are a household of 4 who are always on meetings, streaming, downloading, uploading backups, from 2 dozen devices etc. We have a 400/400 plan that we pay $29.99 for ($39.99 plan minus $10 teachers discount). A 300 to 400Mbps plan should be sufficient for most and the double cost for 1Gig just seems excessive.

Regarding this deal, if you actually need gigabit internet (few people do), consider that the Prime membership is worth $13/month. ISTR that they've had Gb internet on sale for $60/mo in the recent past.

If you're just streaming, you don't need Gb. Even if you have 6 people streaming simultaneously, you don't need it.
majority of people should be fine with the 400Mbps. A lot of people do not take into account smart devices (smart home products). I personally have Gb just because the price difference isn't that big to get double the 400Mbps.

Unless a smart home device is streaming video, the amount of data it uses is trivial. I maintain that unless you're uploading or downloading tens of GB of data per day, you don't need Gb internet.

On the normal site it's $75 a month including a $100GC and Amazon prime/echo dot. The 400MB one is $60.

For $15 a month, I'll get the extra speeds. Moving into an area next month that has Verizon fios. Can't wait!
Save your money. They provision 300/300 for the $40 level now which for most sites maxes it out. I had gig for two years and the only difference I note is I went from $120 (3 play) down to $40. Just saying and I run dev from home and move hundreds of gigs at a time. the latency is 100% the exact same which for interactive and small transactions makes a big difference. I also use my own router and save on that.

I'm still using their 300Mbps at $40/month, and it's been fine for everything (two kids attending school from home, two parents zooming from home, usual streaming, etc). What do people use gigabit for? Genuinely curious.

Gigabit regularly comes with the router rental included, 12 months prime, 12 months discovery+, echo dot, stream box, $99 install fee waived, and $10 off monthly bill if you also have vz wireless ($10 off that bill as well). You can also get nearly the same cashback without jumping through SD hoops at places like bee froogal, etc.

I had Verizon. The thing bad about them is they gonna raise the price by a lot. I was with them for almost 20 years. They wont bring the price down or giving me any discounts. I keep bugging them but they wont budge. So I told them Im leaving and that was it. Verizon has great speed and reliable internet service. The pricing just sucks. Even their wireless service.

Verizon needs to finish their damn residential deployment footprint! After selling off 40% of geographies to bankrupt companies they reneged on getting the last mile done for the rest!

Funny that you say that, after years of sporadically using my 20" monitor at home, now that I've been working from home I invested in a 27" and, boy, does it make a difference! I see your point, and I appreciate your comment. For me though, I don't really download/upload large files that often, aside from the occasional Android ROM image when I'm in the mood to play with my phone. So yes, I was being narrowminded in thinking that no one really needs 1 gigabit, I didn't mean to TC. Thanks for your perspective!
