I needed a router for my wooden room divider and deck project (for later in the summer) and I found a super good deal on this combo. It would have costed more if I just bought the same Ridgid router by itself. Although Home Depot says you're only saving $19 on the bundle, if the router and sander is purchased separately, it would have been $173.97.

Combo Package for $99 :

If purchased separately, total would be $173.97: The collet-size on this router is 1/4-inch. I also picked up the Yonico 15-piece 1/4--inch router-bit set to round-out my purchase if you wanted ideas on a quality set of router bits:

I've had this package for probably 6+ years now. It was the same price when I bought it, so this deal comes around occasionally. No issues with either tool, I use the trim router quite a bit and it's my 1st goto for most routing projects. Way more convenient than a full size router when doing more minor things like round overs, flush trimming, etc... I do find the clearance to change bits out pretty limited, so not my favorite when having to change bits out alot (but i feel like that's the case with all the routers i've used).

I use the sheet sander less, never had any issues with it, but feel like random orbitals do a better job over sheet sanders for general use. I've recently picked up an 18v trim router and *love* the lack of a cord for flexibility in movement, but the corded version has a definite place when you don't want to worry about losing power / need that extra power / constant runtime. I wouldn't hesitate on the trim router, and $99 for both is a pretty good value. I wouldn't pay full price for the sheet sander by itself.

With a $19 savings over their normal combo retail, a decent deal for the combo if you need it....

What many do like about Ridgid is their LSI (Lifetime Service Agreement) program if you have a service center close, or a participating HD that does in house or will do an exchange. Granted, LSI could disappear tomorrow, but for now, a great, no additional cost benefit.

And of course, there is the always potential deal coming down from Direct Tools, HD's subsidiary, for their 'blemished' sales that everyone says are actually new.

Man, you had me all the way until I accidentally saw corded...

I'm so heavily invested in Ridgid 18 volt tools, that I just don't want to deal with cords anymore. I mean sure, I'll use them if I have to.

Anywho, these are an excellent 2 tool combo though!

Thank you for your efforts!
