Port out
I can confirm that you can port out using the 6-digit account number and 4-digit PIN on your account profile. You do not have to contact customer service by phone, email, or chat.
If required by your new carrier, you can use T-Mobile as your current carrier.
Do not port your number to small time MNVO's.
instead Port your Number to google voice so you can keep it forever. Google it.

I just use the $60/year plan for one phone and the $99/year plan for the other. I don't need to have unlimited voice/texts or a ton of data. As a plus we can use our minutes to call just about anywhere overseas (my wife calls family and friends in Thailand).
One of the phones is due for renewal so I will keep reading these offers. I do appreciate those that take the time to post them and those who comment.

This type of account would be perfect for a grandparent, for example, who wants cell service, but does not use data.

911 calls are always free on any device, period. No cell plan needed.
When traveling, I always want data, but don't need it around town here AND prefer NOT to have data locally. Just another way to be tracked by every app. Picking up the phone and seeing location services on when I didn't turn them on is bad. That happens every few days.

For the address you have to start typing it then select from the drop down that appears -- don't type in the whole thing yourself
I fully typed my apt number in 2nd box and it was saying invalid address -- erased it then selected my apt from the drop down that appears and the order went through

"speed throttled down to 2G once you use up your plan's data amount", so you really never run out of data.
here is the link to the1year, 1GB/moth deal, 4G LTE [freedompop.com]
But the key I was making is you NEVER run out of data. Everybody has their own needs, and I get away with 500 Min and 1GB data for $9 + tax. And I use my brain to roll over my minutes and data.
HelloMobile, $15 for 4gb as well but hard capped data. Taxes included, don't need to prepay for an entire year. They also have $25 unl plan (really only 15gb then slowed to 2g), however they do have multi line discounts so 2 people on unl is $20/ea (no hotspot at all though). Still who can say to quality of service until you have gone through every provider personally?
Visible, $25 taxes incl. Unl everything including hotspot, great price but deprioritization can completely kill the service for you.
Everyone has different needs. Taxes will cause my $15 mint to be $24, if Liberty is same service quality I could get 5gb for $20 due to taxes included (though I'll still have to prepay a year).
