Good to know. I am a Liberty customer with their 1GB plan, and wish to point out that any unused data does not roll over to the next month.

I have been with Red Pocket for years and I keep looking for a reason to switch although I am pretty happy with RP's service a price. I read all these offers/threads hoping there might be some plan better I am missing, but...

I just use the $60/year plan for one phone and the $99/year plan for the other. I don't need to have unlimited voice/texts or a ton of data. As a plus we can use our minutes to call just about anywhere overseas (my wife calls family and friends in Thailand).

One of the phones is due for renewal so I will keep reading these offers. I do appreciate those that take the time to post them and those who comment.

Just a reminder that Liberty Wireless has what I believe is the lowest price for unlimited calls and texts (and NO data) on the T-Mobile network -- just $5 a month via a $60 year-long card at eBay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/17458289...Swi9ZfkzSR [ebay.com]

This type of account would be perfect for a grandparent, for example, who wants cell service, but does not use data.

T-Mobile had a $3/month PAYG plan a year ago - 30m of talk or 30 texts - no data. $48/yr. Mix/match talk/text to 30. Cheapest for an emergency phone NOT used to call 911. Us old people don't have the habit of chatting on the phone. I've texted twice in my life. Just not something we do.

911 calls are always free on any device, period. No cell plan needed.

When traveling, I always want data, but don't need it around town here AND prefer NOT to have data locally. Just another way to be tracked by every app. Picking up the phone and seeing location services on when I didn't turn them on is bad. That happens every few days.

Wasted my time requesting a sim, rejected that my address is invalid
Same here. It's not a particularly complicated address and I checked and rechecked everything, but I keep getting the error "Enter a valid address" over and over. I only wanted it as a spare in case I run out of data on one of my visits to the US, so no big loss. The website is pretty...amateur looking...so I'm not very surprised.

Ordered one using desktop Chrome

For the address you have to start typing it then select from the drop down that appears -- don't type in the whole thing yourself

I fully typed my apt number in 2nd box and it was saying invalid address -- erased it then selected my apt from the drop down that appears and the order went through

I got this bizarre reply from customer service, both via chat and phone. The person said that if the system didn't accept my address then Tmobile service in my area is bad. I told him that I am already on Tmo and that coverage in my area is excellent. I'm in New York City. He wouldn't budge. With that sort of ridiculous reply I'm loathe to even try their service.

Thank you it worked. Heads up if you are using Chrome autofill it blocks out the ability to see the website's suggested address that you must use.

Happy with Tello, never use all my data but this is what they say about it:
"speed throttled down to 2G once you use up your plan's data amount", so you really never run out of data.
The 2g on Tello is so slow as to be almost unusable.

why wouldnt you go with mint? $15 for 4gb of data, unlimited talk/text. Seems like a no brainer to me, but then again, I also use my brain.

here is the link to the1year, 1GB/moth deal, 4G LTE [freedompop.com]
I tried it. They immediately started hitting me with fraudulent charges and have no customer service. It is nothing but a scam.

True if you want to watch videos, but works fine if you use FB messenger to chat or call (even better if you use the slim messenger lite, no bloat).

But the key I was making is you NEVER run out of data. Everybody has their own needs, and I get away with 500 Min and 1GB data for $9 + tax. And I use my brain to roll over my minutes and data. Smilie

Mint is only the $15 for 4gb if you commit to an entire year and prepay for that year. Hotspot can be used for full data amount, excl unl which is capped at 5gb. It's not as though other mvnos don't have similar prices or better deals, all depends on personal needs. They also have no family plan discounts, which is a factor as well along with the most important: taxes are not included in the subtotal cost.

HelloMobile, $15 for 4gb as well but hard capped data. Taxes included, don't need to prepay for an entire year. They also have $25 unl plan (really only 15gb then slowed to 2g), however they do have multi line discounts so 2 people on unl is $20/ea (no hotspot at all though). Still who can say to quality of service until you have gone through every provider personally?

Visible, $25 taxes incl. Unl everything including hotspot, great price but deprioritization can completely kill the service for you.

Everyone has different needs. Taxes will cause my $15 mint to be $24, if Liberty is same service quality I could get 5gb for $20 due to taxes included (though I'll still have to prepay a year).

$15 mint is after taxes. Do the other ones also offer wifi calling? But yes, you are correct. You do have to prepay for a year to get the $15/month rate.
