Port out
I can confirm that you can port out using the 6-digit account number and 4-digit PIN on your account profile. You do not have to contact customer service by phone, email, or chat.
If required by your new carrier, you can use T-Mobile as your current carrier.
Do not port your number to small time MNVO's.
instead Port your Number to google voice so you can keep it forever. Google it.

What a great cheap deal... I was not aware of it. Thanks for pointing out Hello Mobile's $5 plan.

This type of account would be perfect for a grandparent, for example, who wants cell service, but does not use data.

Well from 10/18 to 01/21 I used Mint, a MNVO of TMobile.
Service was equal to T-Mobile.
Late in 01/21 switched to Metro, another MNVO of TMobile.
(They offered a free OnePlus Nord N10 phone. Wouldn't resist.)
Service is equal to Mint and to T-Mobile.
So, as they say: "ALL generalizations are false, including this one!"

Scam artistes par excellence. Signed on for their *free* service a few years ago, by buying their phone for ? $20-$30. Service (?) totally unreliable. Eventually sold the phone on eBay, and buyer complained that Freedom Pop (somewhere in Arizona) said phone would not work on their system.
TANSTAAFL.... Trre ain't no such thing as a Free Lunch.
