At first you will probably HATE your very firm mattress, over a few months as it softens up a bit, you will wonder why you ever bought a soft saggy mattress!
It's very difficult to research mattresses because the industry sells the same mattress under different names at various retailers. But if you compare the number of coils, the composition and thickness of the various layers, you can usually figure out competing products at different retailers, then just buy from the lowest price. I like us-mattress.com because they give comprehensive info about relative firmness, coils, layers, total weight, user reviews, etc., about their products. You can use this as a starting point to compare similar mattresses at other retailers by trying to match up some of the info. It's not always perfect, but it's the best way I have found to make an informed decision, in an industry that doesn't want consumers making informed decisions.

He cut a piece of 3/4 plywood, wrapped it in a sheet, put 2 yoga mats over it and sleeps on that on his side of the bed lolol
I cant only sleep on super firm mattresses or even on the floor.
I can't remember if the mattress is the same as in this deal. I'm not in love with the one I got. My wife prefers a softer mattress and I prefer a firmer one. Ours doesn't make either one of us feel great in the morning.
I usually have neck pain when I wake up. I thought a good mattress will help. Nothing helped, from foam to sleep number to regular mattress. I did finally find a nice down pillow, and now I very rarely wake up with a painful neck. So that was apparently the secret.

I just checked my order history. The mattress I got with this free base was a Serta Perfect Sleeper Kleinmon II Firm Pillow Top so disregard what I said about the mattress. It was also twice the price.

EDIT: I see a $50 "Room of choice" option, instead of a "White Glove" option. So for $60, they put on a pair of gloves instead of just bare hands?

The set comes with the Reverie O200 which is super basic, head lift only and wired remote. These below are the web IDs from Macys and include both head/foot lift and various other features possibly. Price listed is on top of the $399 price.. so mostly not worth it for foot lift at almost $500 extra:

The $479 models are $300 off listed price currently. The other two are about $100 cheaper than listed price on the website. The discounted price as I said is above the $400 per the CSR I spoke with. Bit of a rip off when you can just buy it for the same price or less elsewhere without a bundled price.
Still, you'd be hard pressed to find an adjustable base and decent mattress for $400.
*EDIT - JC Penney kept default to twin xl price after I selected queen. Prices are fixed.
