just be aware that passive USB-C docks cannot charge this laptop
I've tried on all ENVY and Spectre and contacted HP tier 2 support on many occasions, their reasoning is that they want to protect users from uncertified or dangerous charging devices that don't fully meet the USB PD standards (I've tried about 6 different brands of chargers and passive docks in combinations, none worked)
so far, only active docks like Thunderbolt 3 works in charging and delivering signal via one single cable

I have couple of Type-C Hubs the one I ma using currently, supports 100W Charging but 10W is reserved for the dock itself. I use a 65W and a 90W Type-C PD Charger and both work perfectly fine with Envy x360.
