swappable memory on both banks, looks a good deal
just be aware that passive USB-C docks cannot charge this laptop
I've tried on all ENVY and Spectre and contacted HP tier 2 support on many occasions, their reasoning is that they want to protect users from uncertified or dangerous charging devices that don't fully meet the USB PD standards (I've tried about 6 different brands of chargers and passive docks in combinations, none worked)

so far, only active docks like Thunderbolt 3 works in charging and delivering signal via one single cable

It works perfectly fine with my last year's HP Envy 13 x360 with Ryzen 7 4700U, with my three Type-C Hubs I have and all of them supports at least 65W Power Delivery. Even my $20 MINC Type-C Hub does allow Pass through charging.

Doesn't seem to be the case for my Intel based spectre and envy purchased at the end of 2020

Which Hub you're using and what is the wattage of the Type-C Charger and is it PD certified? Some of these Laptops are very picky about what they support. Most of these HP Laptops normally artificially restrict charging anything below 65W. So, using any PD charger below 65W, sometimes does not work. Similarly, some of the budget hubs, although say 65W Passthrough Charging support, actually use around 12W to 15W of power for powering the hub itself, for supporting devices like external HDD or SSDs. In that case, what happens is that the Laptop actually gets less than 65W power and triggers the prevention logic.
I have couple of Type-C Hubs the one I ma using currently, supports 100W Charging but 10W is reserved for the dock itself. I use a 65W and a 90W Type-C PD Charger and both work perfectly fine with Envy x360.

I actually am using 100w charger and 100w pd passthrough or 90w passthrough dock and none of them worked. I wonder if it is an AMD vs Intel thing and Intel wanting to push for tb3 and tb4 thus forcing hp to do things like this

Costco never had this 2021 model in sale, in the first place.

My anker passthrough 65w chargers (few different models) all work with both my 15" and 13" spectres (2019).

If I understand your issue correctly it's an HP thing. My Lenovo and Asus Ryzen laptops can charge via the Lenovo usbc 90w hub (60w pd) or the Dell WD19TB hub (100w+)

Nopes. He is referring his Intel version of Envy.

Still like my Flex 5 14". I have no issue with screen NITS on my shaded patio. Sure it can be brighter but I dont really use my laptop at bright places.

Also been. playing Resident Evil 1080P HDR on my 4K TV.
