I tried to order it from here but there was no shipping option. I looked up older deals and found that the previous Bestbuy deal at these same prices for the physical version was alive again.
Best Buy has Select 1-Year Quicken Finance Management Subscriptions (PC/Mac Physical) on sale below. Shipping is free on orders $35+, otherwise is $5.99

Sorry I am new to this software. Is this similar to Mint or other budgeting software? Or is this mostly used for smal businesses?

This software is used by old people such as me! I go back to 1999 with Microsoft Money as far as financial stats. Not that I need to go that far back, but that is what is keeping me with Quicken.

As far as I know the free options do not let you migrate Quicken data into their platform.

I have heard very good feedback on wavespps. I'm going to switch to it. Free version should be sufficient for me
I tried it, it had a very hard time downloading transactions from pretty much all my financial institutions. I looked into it slightly, Wave was using some old communication method that was not supported by many institutions anymore. Maybe that's changed.

I left Quicken after many years when they went to the annual subscription model. I switched to intuit Mint. Its not as elaborate as Quicken but a lot less headaches, frustrations, corrupted data files and crashes and its free. Just takes some learning. If all you are doing is daily tracking bank accounts and brokerage investments it works for me. The only thing I miss from Quicken are the annual tax reports to itemize deductions come tax time.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Mint (the website) can give you a snapshot of all your accounts, with recent transactions. I'm not sure how far back the transactions go, but it doesn't appear to be that far. For the one investment account I added into Mint, the reporting on that investment is little more than the current value, no historical data.

Their business model is dead. Not only did I now need to pay them a fairly heafty yearly fee, they were possibly charging my bank (Wells Fargo) a fee too, who was charging me $36/year for the privilege of using Quicken. I switched to personal capital, similar to mint, about 2 years ago. I miss a few of the tools in Quicken, but cloud tools are too convienient.

I still Microsoft Money CD i got few years ago. Lately, Its giving me error with driver being old and not compatible with win 10.
Its very simple interface for my need but if anyone got a driver for win10 can you please share?

TIA
You probably need to get the Money "Sunset Edition" available for free from Microsoft.

We still use Microsoft Money on all our Windows 10 computers and have no problems. (The only caveat is that most banks only let you download the Quicken "QFX" format, and you need to convert to the Money "OFX" specification - easy conversion).

Yes! I miss Managing Your Money, and would still be using it if it were Windows-compatible.

If you're interested, Andrew Tobias still runs an active, informative and entertaining blog. Here's what he has to say about his old software package:

https://andrewtobias.com/managing-your-money/

For what it's worth: I currently use Quicken 2013. It's still running fine, with no annual subscription fees. I believe Quicken 2017 was the last non-subscription package, and CDs of those older Quicken versions are still occasionally available on eBay. If you go this route, you may want to go here to find and apply the latest patch to update the program:

I'm still running Quicken 2016, need couple of patch to run on Windows 10. I can not use any of the online feature but that's fine.

I've been thinking about getting quicken. but with all the hacking new we hear, I'm little hesitant. How is the security with these online subscriptions? Are we exposing too much information?

Hi I'm not running any business or investments. Is this software useful for daily accounting (personal use) for non business purposes?
I used it for tracking all my expenses by categories. Need to do so to support Schedule C expenses. One can create as many categories and tags to catgeorize the income and expenses. Reports pretty basic but sufficient for my needs.

It is a lot cheaper to do this than using something like Quickbooks. Also, much easier.

I am in the exact same boat as you. The main functionality that you will be losing is not being able to run reports that list capital gains and interest/dividends similar which are in similar format to the tax schedules you would file with your tax return. They are nice to have but I don't rely on them to file my taxes, so not a big deal for me. There is also a tax planning module that only comes with premier - it has been buggy, so again, not a big deal for me.
I am not aware of anything else. Perhaps someone else can chime in.
Quote from galewskj :
I use the deluxe version to track the values and my overall allocations for 5 investment accounts. Deluxe can at least do that. I've had to manually adjust the asset allocation for some investments, but I suspect premiere would have the same issue.
Quote from biggolfer :
Thanks that helps.

The tax planner has never worked properly. I do run some of those reports but don't rely on them or use for transferring into my tax software. I use the reports mainly as a way to determine if I need to adjust my tax withholdings due to investment transactions during the year. they are nice to have though.

My subscription expires on May 25th. I think I'm going to pick up the deluxe with the sale and 15% cash back and give it a try for a year.
Quicken is not very good for tax planning on securities planning. Especailly if one is active and have to deal with wash sales. Quicken is also wrong often on the basis. It also cannot handle splits.

I just use the available reports from the brokerage detailing YTD recoginized gains and losses. Plus their income report pretty much gives me a picture of what is going on.
