I speak from the perspective of an severely abused Walmart brickseek user.

Limited stock means 0. 2-4 means 0 in stock. 6+ also means 0 in stock

Give me a break. This is something that many people have many uses for.

I could easily use 6 for daily use, probably more.

i watched this for a couple of days as my Walmart said it had 3 @ $22.25, I normally wouldn't do a 500gb but for that price i was on the fence. 2 days later brickseek shows the 3 still there, so i went to see at 10:30pm and of course the person covering did not know where they were. I wandered and sure enough on a bottom shelf far away from where they should be voila. Grabbed one and she checked me out. i might go back for the rest, but ebay is $40-60 rn, if it was 70 or better i would absolutely consider it. but it is too much work for $20-30

Waste of my time once again, not sure why I keep falling for these... showed 6+ available this morning, went this morning and saw none.

Coming up $99 when I try and buy it
You're likely seeing the "online price". The online price on Walmart's site will likely differ in situations like this - compared to what the in-store price is. (And you may have to scan it to actually see the price. It may not have the clearance price on the product, nor on the shelf). The clearance prices of these things will also vary by store and region... If you use Brickseek to check the product and your local stores, usually you should have a pretty "true" price from that. To get the Walmart SKU, I think it's usually the numbers at the end of the URL of the Walmart product page... plug that and your zip code into Brickseek, and you'll see some results.

The issue is actually finding something in-store when it's a great price. It may say there's some in stock, but they're nowhere to be found. And Walmart employees may not be super helpful in finding it, if it's even still around. Stock supposedly updates at midnight, Also, never ever call Walmart to ask about it... Because employees may buy it before you, or even a manager may say it can't be sold at that price or something. (I think things like that have happened more for some phones though)

I was able to get 3 of the 1TB ones. They were in lockup, not visible to customer. (tagging here since this thread was broken into the 500GB and the 1TB one. )

https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=147292153&postcount=146

I had found the 500GB for $33.82, but returned it when I found three of the 1TB at another store.

I also got a WD My Book Desktop 6tb hard drive. (I've already shucked it and added it to my NAS's main RAID group.

Brickseek said 3-4, Walmart said 3. They had one for $33, I'm happy with it. I wanted a 1tb but for the price can't say no, transfer speed on big files insane vs my old portable WD drive. It's also WAAAY smaller/lighter. After buying the only one on the shelf Brickseek still says 3-4 Walmart says 1. I didn't ask anyone if there were more hiding, but there was a row of the 1tb drives next to this one so I'm assuming it was the only one they actually had.
