It has 16 GB ram and 512GB SSD hard drive. Not sure why you have an issue with a very capable CPU for the price.
This is a Macbook pro, not an HP or Dell.
A bug riddled keyboard ... I dont know why are you so insistent about this one. The new MBA with M1 chip and mere 8GB RAM will run circles around this one

The Macbook air with M1 is $300 more than the the refurbed pro. In fact, you can get the more powerful 2017 15" for $699. Again, $300 less than the air.

Well, for $300, you are getting a lot more. Plus MBA is mostly on sale for $100 [Starting at $899]. This has a dual core processor vs 8 cores on new MBA. That alone is significant upgrade. If you want to buy it, well, up to you. But this machine won't be a long term partner for you b/c of both its keyboard issues and its ageing processor.
Rest is your own decision. Its your money after all

I tried the M1 MBA against the Macbook Pro 2017 15" and there was nothing to make me want the M1. The dedicated graphics in the 15" Pro did better for me than the M1.
Also, there are glitches and software compatibility with the M1 macbook air.
The M1 Apple line is great and a leap ahead of the pack, yet, not worth paying an extra $300. Plus, the Air is a 13" screen and the macbook pro is 15" with more storage. Way better value to get the refurbed macbook pro 15" for $699 over the 13" air for $999.
Bonus: You can always turn the macbook pro 15" into a windows laptop. Something I hear cannot be done so easily with the m1 macbook air.
