The new one is coming tomorrow maybe that's why this is at a great price. The only missing feature is airplay which the new one has. But for someone who has a Roku tv, this is a great deal since you can control both with a single remote.

In my opinion, the sound is better than most TVs have built in but not as good as the vizio soundbar I replaced with this. I had a roku ultra and vizio soundbar previously and in addition to the sound being better, the ultra is faster. This soundbar seems dog slow in comparison. Very delayed between clicks. Slow to load things, etc. Conversely, I had an airbnb rental recently that had the exact same soundbar and it was really snappy and responsive. Maybe something wrong with mine. Good luck if you decide to buy.

One other incidental note - a few weeks into owning mine it was obvious the wifi remote wasn't working anymore and it was relying on the line of sight infrared remote. This was easily confirmed by pairing up an old remote and it worked fine. I submitted a ticket to roku and they didn't even ask any questions - just had a new remote in my mailbox a few days later.
I'm taking a hard pass.

Roku avoiding Ethernet and trying to force everything to WiFi is very off-putting to me. I understand radio spectrum, and if you live on the second floor of a three story "bee colony" apartment complex with other apartments in every direction the air is saturated. Being able to use a cable makes all the difference in the world for video content.

Read a report on this and found out it's absolutely no different than the current Roku sound bar. Just a name rebranding.

Well you don't have to be a rocket scientist to look at the two and see that the new one is substantially larger. I'm sure there are other notable differences, but that alone makes your statement false and worthy of being deleted in shame.

They already have a larger roku streambar. The 'new' roku streambar is rebrand of that, not new streambar. There's no reason to be so abrasive about something you're wrong about haha

So you are saying there will be a new version of this streambar that will be released soon that looks exactly the same?

Yikes, I thought Roku was the budget option. At this rate just buy an Apple TV…

For those of you who want a truly wireless experience, if you buy the Roku wireless speakers and optional wireless subwoofer they require no wires at all to setup a surround sound. *Most "wireless" surround sound systems aren't actually wireless but for a fairly good experience the roku speakers, soundbar pro and subwoofer sound pretty good.

I said the Roku Sound Bar, not the Streambar. Reading is hard.

For me, I'd prefer that my streamer box not be integrated into my sound system.... Since they are out of date after a while, and would require a replacement or upgrade.

I'd stick with a decent soundbar and a separate streaming box.

This product is good for a child, like a Fisher price my first soundbar, but for everyone else it's best to avoid and get a real soundbar from a reputable company.
The first time that I laid eyes on the Roku OS. I thought it was some sort of product for seniors (eg.... Jitterbug, GrandPad etc...)
Well, this sound bar definitely looks like something for older folks.

Man this thread is hilarious. There are always some lames trying to prove a point and hate on a deal, probably because they spent way too much money on some nonsense. I have rokus in every room in my house, some wired, some not, but have rarely had to wait more than 2 seconds for anything to load.

Good deal for those who want a smart device with decent sound bar better than most thin and old TVs. Repped.

Adding the sub and surrounds is worth it. My Brother has the whole setup bar sub and surrounds. He actually bought the ONN surrounds from Walmart and they work perfectly and sound great.

Mr. I Understand Radio Spectrum needs to understand the Roku product line because some Roku devices do support Ethernet.
Yeah, that's exactly why I'm criticizing them. I do understand their product line. I also know my bottom-of-the-line Comcast provided little TV Box my wife got has Ethernet. I also know most of those cheap little Android devices you can get on Amazon for running Kodi have Ethernet. My tiny little Steam Link devices not only have Ethernet but came with Ethernet cables and though they support WiFi rightfully recommend the use of a cable over WiFi.

I'm criticizing the Roku product line because I think not putting Ethernet on most of their stuff is an irresponsible decision and teaches consumers bad habits, especially those who live in densely populated housing conditions.

Do you feel proud of yourself calling me out for saying exactly what I said?

If it makes you feel better some years back I attacked Logitech pretty harshly on their own forums for failing to having many Bluetooth products instead trying to make everyone have a dongle sticking out of their systems. I straight up told them I started to buy Microsoft mice despite being a Linux user who has no love for Microsoft. Guess what? Because of me and others like me pointing out the errors of their ways Logitech now has a much larger Bluetooth selection.
