By what metric is fukoshima worse? No one received anywhere near a lethal dose of radiation, whereas dozens of people died shortly after chernobyl from radiation sickness, and thousands received high doses that likely resulted in higher rates of cancer. Had chernobyl melted down to the water table, the contamination zone would have been enormous and it would have been unimaginable in scale.

I think people care more about Chernobyl because it only happened due to the sheer arrogance and hierarchy of the communist party. If people hadn't been hired based on party loyalty rather than qualifications, if known mistakes hadn't been redacted to save face, and if a pushy employee wasnt after a promotion, it wouldn't have happened. Even after it happened, they lied to the Germans about the extent of the radioactivity and fried their robot lol. They then had to clean up their mess by sacrificing their own "bio-robots". Modern world cringe to say the least. I think it's the unbelievable circus surrounding what happened that is most intriguing. Fukushima was just tragic.

Chernobyl is interesting because the Russians did it to themselves. Fukushima happened because Tsunami from earthquake.

The only reason I believe Chernobyl is as popular as it is (google Chernobyl movies. . .) was because of it was in Russia. They're the masters at creating huge problems then appearing as heroes when they solve them.

Not bagging on The Bear. US has its problems too. But no one made movie after movie about 3 mile island. (The China Syndrome didn't have "3" or "Mile" or "Island" in the title unlike "Chernobyl Diaries")

Can anyone comment on the amount of subtitles. I'm not very good at reading and watching at the same time.

Buyer beware: if the digital code you get from the purchase is expired, then you are SoL. Seems like only one person works for WB digital copy support, and he'll make you run around, then deny you the code with no reason.

I'll be honest. I don't get the high critic love this show gets. I tried to watch it, but it just made me sad and bored after the first 1.5 episodes. I couldn't finish it and didn't want to, as I wanted to watch something happier.
If you don't like drama then why would you even try and watch a show about a nuclear reactor meltdown? They all can't be Encino Man my dude.

This was a riveting series, equal parts disaster and political thriller genres. Very hard to watch at times, radiation poisoning is a horrific way to go.

Definitely not one I need to own, as I'm not sure I'll watch this one again, but if I did would be fine without the highest quality pq/aq from physical media.
