With their constant solicitation calls, emails, letters, and ads in my vehicle for a very poor quality radio service, I'll pass, even when free.

The bitrate is about 64 kbps for music and 32 kbps for talk on Sirius.
The bitrate on Spotify HIFI/Tidal Masters is 320 kbps CD quality for lossless audio.

Use an app, connect a cable, and ditch the garbage audio of Sirius. (FM radio is 96 kbps)

The bitrate is probably somewhere between 24–48 kbps depending if the AAC variant is based on v1 or v2 of the HE codec. The sample rate of the played back audio is likely 32 kHz or 44.1 kHz which will yield 16–22 kHz of audio bandwidth.

Worked for two Hondas... use a unique (or misspelled ) name if you've previously been an active customer.

SiriusXM Dealer app... For android it is this:
https://play.google.com/store/app...n_US&gl=US

But you have to be at a dealership (can't just do it from your house). That's why I was saying if someone wanted me to sign them up for the 6 month trial I could do it (if they sent me their radio ID) tomorrow when I am near a dealership.
I didn't know it was so simple!

This guy gets it, the audio is horrible.

If you know your radio id# you can just put in fake info and get it that way, I've had free Sirius in my work car for almost 3 years now lol. A whole bunch of whole foods stores are getting spam mail from Sirius because of me.
Yep. Been doing 4 cars for years this way. My previous link stopped activating so now I just do the dealer app and that works and is easier if in the area.

Gonna try this new link for one car to see.

How exactly does this work? I downloaded the IOS version of the app and it let me send a 'refresh' signal to my car successfully from home. Does that activate a 6-month trial? I don't see any option for a trial, just refresh based on VIN or Radio ID.

That's awesome! Thanks for the info. I sent it to my wife's car which is in the driveway but off, so it probably didn't get the signal (not sure if it will get a refresh later under normal circumstances or if I have to do it manually again) so I'll have to give it a try later as mine is already on the OP's 3-month trial. Kind of surprised it let me do it from home, though I actually ran it on my Mac Mini via the iPad app, so maybe that confused the geo-location stuff.

XM mails me this offer after I take my car in for its annual oil change and inspection. Sometimes I'll wait to activate before a road trip but it always works. But I just don't understand why XM does it rather than to have a more consumer friendly way of being a paid subscriber. Every music service I can think of lets you cancel at will online w/o issue. XM puts you on a phone Baatan death march before letting you leave, which is why I will never ever subscribe. But, hey, thanks for the 3 mos. every year.

Not sure offhand what her Radio ID is as I did it by VIN. I appreciate the offer, but I think I can get it working once the car is on, assuming it is as simple as just putting in the ID/VIN and hitting refresh. Worst case, I have a Hyundai dealer a couple blocks from the house. I'll let you know if I run into any issues though. Thanks again!

I would actually pay $$ to have SiriusXM removed from my car. I hate the fact that even if you don't have it, and don't want it, it still shows up in most vehicle menus.
