With their constant solicitation calls, emails, letters, and ads in my vehicle for a very poor quality radio service, I'll pass, even when free.

The bitrate is about 64 kbps for music and 32 kbps for talk on Sirius.
The bitrate on Spotify HIFI/Tidal Masters is 320 kbps CD quality for lossless audio.

Use an app, connect a cable, and ditch the garbage audio of Sirius. (FM radio is 96 kbps)

The bitrate is probably somewhere between 24–48 kbps depending if the AAC variant is based on v1 or v2 of the HE codec. The sample rate of the played back audio is likely 32 kHz or 44.1 kHz which will yield 16–22 kHz of audio bandwidth.

Worked for two Hondas... use a unique (or misspelled ) name if you've previously been an active customer.

That's awesome! Thanks for the info. I sent it to my wife's car which is in the driveway but off, so it probably didn't get the signal (not sure if it will get a refresh later under normal circumstances or if I have to do it manually again) so I'll have to give it a try later as mine is already on the OP's 3-month trial. Kind of surprised it let me do it from home, though I actually ran it on my Mac Mini via the iPad app, so maybe that confused the geo-location stuff.
Your car needs to be on and tuned to an XM channel for it get the refresh signal. The refresh signal is a one-time thing and if your car isn't on when it gets sent then you won't get it later.

What I do is, turn the car on, tune it to XM channel 0 and it will display the radio ID#, plug that into the app and the refresh signal gets sent, leave the car running and leave it on channel 0 and the radio will refresh within 2 to 3 minutes. Done!

No joy. Reply said I just finished a "trial subscription". After 14 years never paying full price I canceled end of last month. Guess that makes every renewal a trial. Maybe next time. Looks like something like this will be the only way I get Sirius/XM in the future.

Finally got it to work! Before it said I already had trial. This time I entered my radio Id, fake name, number, etc. Now it works!

They absolutely will not let me get the trial. I've tried everything I can think of short of actually paying lol. Funny thing is I've never had the trial service in this vehicle.

I just did this deal a few months ago, no credit card required was great, Apple Music just sent me an offer for six months for free so other people should be on the lookout for that as well if you've never subscribed to it

Much rather pay $8 a month for Spotify where I can choose what music I want to listen to. When I had my 3 month trial in my new car I found myself continually bouncing around between stations trying to find a song I liked and when I did it was half over. What's the point.

Thanks for clarifying. I was under the impression that SiriusXM continually sent out 'refresh' signals to all subscribed units every so often, so thought that might get it activated too.

Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, when I went to test this out on my wife's car, she told me that when she went into the dealership for service last week, they gave her a "free trial" of SiriusXM when they worked on her car. Not sure why, as that never happened to me, but I assume they probably used the exact same app to do it LMAO. Though they told her it was only for 3-months. And since I used the OP's method to get a 3-month trial, I'll have to wait a few months before I can actually test it out myself.

Used the link on sirius xm website, typed my radio id, fake name and fake zip code. Website said I was eligible. Finished filling out the form with fake address, fake email, and fake phone number. The next screen said to follow the instructions on the text msg they just sent. WTF? I just used a fake number. Can I not activate the trial without the text message? My radio is only getting channels 0 and 1.

I just used the dealer app to renew a 2020 Hyundai and a 2022 Hyundai whose subscription that came with the car just expired today. Definitely use the app method once you are out of the trial period. Good luck!

Yep. Been doing 4 cars for years this way. My previous link stopped activating so now I just do the dealer app and that works and is easier if in the area.

Gonna try this new link for one car to see.
Does the dealer app method include Howard Stern or just basic stuff?

It gave me two choices. Text or send signal now with the car on. Do it on a desktop and have your car nearby.

If it tells you that your trial is expired, just use a different name, phone, and email address and it will work.

Worked great and thanks OP! Will be good for the winter months on the road for the holidays..listening to sports (NFL, NBA..etc). Music quality is trash but being able to pull in sports is worth it..esp since AM is garbage.
