With their constant solicitation calls, emails, letters, and ads in my vehicle for a very poor quality radio service, I'll pass, even when free.

The bitrate is about 64 kbps for music and 32 kbps for talk on Sirius.
The bitrate on Spotify HIFI/Tidal Masters is 320 kbps CD quality for lossless audio.

Use an app, connect a cable, and ditch the garbage audio of Sirius. (FM radio is 96 kbps)

The bitrate is probably somewhere between 24–48 kbps depending if the AAC variant is based on v1 or v2 of the HE codec. The sample rate of the played back audio is likely 32 kHz or 44.1 kHz which will yield 16–22 kHz of audio bandwidth.

Gave it a try for our thousand-mile trip down to FL. Same crappy quality I remember from when I was a regular subscriber way back when Sirius and XM were two separate companies. Unacceptable.

I ended up mostly using the Echo Auto or have my wife's phone connected to play stories and pod casts.

Goodluck trying to cancel. I did an online chat session with a rep and they're aggressive and are trained to upsell and engage as to why you want to cancel. It's repulsive, took me 10 minutes to say No to the rep 15x, I saved the transcript. Such BS and waste of my time.

Thanks for the info. I'm on the trial for over a week, but I've only been given the $5 month in the past, which I've pasted on for over a year.

Make sure you check that they actually cancel. When I cancelled, I saved my chat session and received email confirmation of cancellation, but the following month they charged me and denied that I ever requested a cancellation. I provided the chat session and email confirmation and they still claimed they had no record of either on their end when I provided copies. It was ridiculous. I ended up resolving it through other means, but it shouldn't be that difficult. I truly hope that my experience was unique, but if you do a quick Google search, you will find that they make it difficult for many to cancel. For that reason (and poor audio quality), I will never sign up with them again.

As others have said before, if you have to give them a credit card, consider giving them a prepaid Visa card or a virtual Visa number. Obviously, there are credit card protections in place, so just make sure you check that they actually honor the cancellation request.

I've used it like 3 times and now it doesn't work. Not sure if you can get the ID banned ? It all goes through but my car never gets the signal ever anymore.

Please make sure to cancel before the actual plan starts, i just got charged $28, after my $5 trial. I don't use it nearly enough to justify that monthly fee. My fault.
