With their constant solicitation calls, emails, letters, and ads in my vehicle for a very poor quality radio service, I'll pass, even when free.

The bitrate is about 64 kbps for music and 32 kbps for talk on Sirius.
The bitrate on Spotify HIFI/Tidal Masters is 320 kbps CD quality for lossless audio.

Use an app, connect a cable, and ditch the garbage audio of Sirius. (FM radio is 96 kbps)

The bitrate is probably somewhere between 24–48 kbps depending if the AAC variant is based on v1 or v2 of the HE codec. The sample rate of the played back audio is likely 32 kHz or 44.1 kHz which will yield 16–22 kHz of audio bandwidth.

Its been 4 weeks since my trial ended. When I try to login as a new user using the VIN, I get this:

"Looks like you currently have a 3-month active trial. You can add a subscription, so you won't miss a beat when your trial ends."

How long do you have to wait between trials?

I can get another 3 months for $2 with standard renewal costs after that. Another option they continue to email me is offering me $5 per month for 12 months and a Free Echo Dot and Free upgrade to Platinum Plan.

I know a lot of people are questioning why anyone would subscribe to this when streaming services are cheaper and better quality. Two reasons. SXM still has some great entertainment content (Stern for the approximately 6 live shows he does per year), Jim and Sam, Bennington, etc. Second, for some people, it's not feasible to use streaming services on long trips because believe it or not, some areas of the country still have dog shit service. Especially for the 5 dollar per month offer some get, this is a no brainer.

Just cancelled two days ago, was about 7 months into a yearly plan. Tried to call and negotiate a better deal and they gave me some limp dick offer so I said fark it. The 3 month trial for me was accompanied by a 2 dollar fee... But it'll be nice to have it again for the summer. Maybe I'll be able to get them down after the trial

My a advice to anyone lookimg to save money with the least amount of hassle is to cancel at the end of the trial and wait a couple weeks for them to send you an offer in the mail. I just did that. The offer they sent ended up being $93 out the door for a full year of service and I get a free echo dot 4th gen. 👍

Like others are saying, they are relentless when your trial is almost up. I went 3 days in a row (trial activated by dealership) of calls before I had to get a supervisor on the line to remove me. You have to specifically say you want to be removed from their calling list. Service sucks, I didn't use it once in that 3 months of free.
