With their constant solicitation calls, emails, letters, and ads in my vehicle for a very poor quality radio service, I'll pass, even when free.

The bitrate is about 64 kbps for music and 32 kbps for talk on Sirius.
The bitrate on Spotify HIFI/Tidal Masters is 320 kbps CD quality for lossless audio.

Use an app, connect a cable, and ditch the garbage audio of Sirius. (FM radio is 96 kbps)

The bitrate is probably somewhere between 24–48 kbps depending if the AAC variant is based on v1 or v2 of the HE codec. The sample rate of the played back audio is likely 32 kHz or 44.1 kHz which will yield 16–22 kHz of audio bandwidth.

So you're a freeloader and don't think YOU should pay for a service (you steal) that has to pay for actual construction, maintenance of satellites ($150M + per sat') as the back bone of their business model. This doesn't include ground stations, expensive sports licensing contracts and minuscule advertising revenue. All paid for with MEMBERSHIP fees.
As shoplifters like to say "they (business) can afford it!".

I used this trial earlier in the year Q1 and now using it again later Q3 and the quality has suddenly tanked. I had zero issues but underpasses for my first trial now this second go... its night and day. I can be parked, waiting in a line, diving, all wide open roads, nothing near, over and around me and the signal is dead. So happy im not paying for crap service.

likely your antenna is bad if you're having that many issues. cross country, in town, underpasses, i rarely have had a bad signal in years.

Did you use fake information? When I put my real name, it didn't work but when I put a fake name it worked. But the following page, you have to provide an email and address. Did you create a fake account and email as well? How did you get the subscription?

I put in my real information, name and e-mail. As warned/suspected, I'm getting regular e-mails and postal mails with special offers, the latest being a $5/month subscription for 2 years. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger but it's not clear if this deal includes the full selection of channels as the free trial provide.

See if you can talk them into $99 for 3 years. Some people (don't know about recently) reporting getting that deal. I tried 2 years ago and was denied though.

those bitrates are misleading. Yes sirius sounds like crap but they use extremely efficient compression. Symphony hall is the best sounding channel and it is under 100kbps. It doesn't sound anything like less than 100kbps AAC.

The 24kbps for talk sounds like maybe double or triple that when compared to aac

You can also stream from the siriusxm app which sounds acceptable and the programming is pretty good

Very inaccurate. The compression isn't good at all, thats why it sounds scratchy with a constant hiss. If you look at a audio frequency chart you can see what I'm talking about. nearly any other source is better than XM. Similar to AM radio bitrates. I analyzed the signals a few years ago so maybe things have changed, but when I did, it was disgusting how much noise was being introduced with the compression and unpacking, by the time you hear the music it was like listening with cans over your ears.

The app I suspect is much better, the company as a whole is garbage and I wont even allow it in new vehicles that come with it.
