Got one when the white model went on sale for $69. Great for cooking all sorts of meats and fish, even tinker with it when making coffee with the Aeropress.

My thermopop died and I vowed to stop buying electronics with watch batteries when there are alternatives. Picked up the mk4 but I immediately kicked myself buying full price, I just needed it ASAP even tho as soon as I subscribed they started sending me coupons.

I have a smoker, but unfortunately I dont use it as much as I want to (own a business plus two kids under 5). For me, I use a solid $20 inkbird and it works. If I get around to using the smoker more ofter (like more than 5 times a year), I would definitely get one of these. They are absolutely worth it.

Serious question. I have a thermpro from Amazon that I got for $15 and tells the temp immediate as well. What's the difference, why would you want this more expensive one when there are such cheaper alternatives?

It's got a lot of nice to have features. If I'm poking 5-6 pieces of meat, waiting 2-3 seconds adds up when I don't want to keep the lid open very long. But what I really love about it is the big numbers on the screen, they rotate how you are holding it, and they also light up at night. It's got a magnet so I can stick it on the fridge when I'm not using it. It has a lot of nice to have things in addition to being more accurate or faster than a cheaper one. If someone is only grilling or checking meat temps once in a blue moon, probably not worth it. For some though, those little features are absolutely worth $70 over the course of 5+ years.

Also, Inb4 the one guy who bought his $7 thermometer comes in asking why we overpay:
Because it's the reason you own a Corolla and other people own a Rolls Royce.
Honestly these pens are overpriced though. The "guts" of them are used by many manufacturers, and they're not anymore accurate than $25 versions of the same thing from Amazon. My boss bought me the two TW pens and their Signals wifi thermometer system as a thank you for catering our work Christmas party. The Signals system is pretty cool and unique, so I could recommend that, but the pens literally feel and perform the same as any other thermapen I've used.

It's usually a 2 year warranty. Their customer service is great to deal with. My Signals unit had a bad battery pack and they shipped me a replacement battery before doing any troubleshooting. Turned out to be a glitch in a firmware update, but they wanted to make sure it was operational as soon as possible.

My $20 Inkbird Instaread cooks my steaks perfectly and is USB C rechargeable. Review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJEErk91L-U
