They got the baseball one? That game was my jam in 1991.

Looks like they've redesigned the packaging so that it's not impossible to open anymore!

It was bad enough back in the day. I had plastic cuts all over hands back then.

These things were horrible in the 80's....owned a bunch but honestly I think they were more frustrating than fun.

What frustrated me about the Tiger games is that it was possible to make good games even on that tiny little chip in the 1980s with like 1k of memory and even with the limitations of an LCD screen. But 99% of Tiger games were just terrible and they used most of the LCD screen to have a single giant worthless 'sprite' showing a cartoon figure instead of using parts of the screen for gameplay. (There were a few halfway decent ones IIRC, but they were so rare I don't even remember which games they were.) I think some of the best ones were just like poker games or whatever, as that's a game with depth that works fine on an LCD.

Super Mario Brothers LCD uses lines to make platforming and scrolling. There are also some good bomberman LCD games -- they just need a grid to show enemies, bombs, squares, etc. So the gameplay is actually good. If you design a game around the limiations of the LCD screen you can make it work. You could probably do a simple little roguelike for example.

TLDR Tiger games kind of gave LCD gaming a bad reputation, because they were usually lazy cash grabs.

I think I had some Egyptian pyramid/mummy LCD game as a kid. Haven't been able to find that one again. It was orange I think. Back in the 80s.

Was it Invaders of the Mummy's Tomb from Bandia [google.com]? That's the only Egyptian themed vintage handheld I can think of right now...
