It clearly states the ram is soldered on, so that's a NO

no it doesn't. it should be using 2-4gb at idle if you're not running a ton of background apps. if it's using significantly more, you might have malware or some other issue.

if your specific use requires more than 8, fine, but most people using a laptop for everyday uses don't need more than 8, and won't for some time to come.

That's not necessarily a no, my current laptop has soldered RAM and still had an empty slot to which I added an 8GB stick.

EDIT: should clarify with tech support though, typically onboard RAM can't be augmented.

I see the video is Intel UHD but the 4K display says UHD+

Is this safe to say, the video is Intel Iris+ (G4) instead of the Intel Iris G1??

I ordered 2 yesterday. I added my Amex get 150 off 1k for Dell. They also had a deal where spend 500 per purchase get $25 off. Hopefully I can double dip both offers which would make this a pretty sweet deal.

Only problem is me reading so much about the 9300. Seems like a lot of peeps experience problems here and there with it. I'm gonna assume I'll have to deal with some of that and pray I can troubleshoot a few here and there. Good luck SDers

N/M on my question. Intel updated the description and took away the Y or U. G1 (32 execution units) represents the graphics on board and is the basic UHD GPU. Was hoping for the Iris+ aka G4 (48 execution units).

"i5-1035G1"

Good news starting with the 10th gen, the AI found on Xeon chips are the same/included on this chip. Also, Intel Evo certified.

It looks like I missed out on adding the accidental warranty at the time of checkout. It appears adding at the time of checkout is extremely cheap compared to dealing with warranty renewal. I tried to add/upgrade my warranty and the rep claims you cannot purchase accidental warranty coverage, it has to be the Prius port + accidental coverage and the quote is $379 2yrs + $100 gift card.

Looking online to purchase a XPS 13 and it's $129 to add 3 years accidental damage service $159 for Four Years.

Does anyone have any ideas or tips to get the accidental warranty added?

Quality control is so bad, two of my laptops screens has yellow tint and pink tint, it probably selling at this price because, this batch probably has defective screen.

I think one of mine has slight light bleed at the corner. But overall really not that bad. Better than I expected. Keyboard feels good. I reinstalled windows, so got rid of a lot of bloatware. Updated and was evening able to do throttlestop to undervolt too. It's much better than the acer spin 3 I got from ebay a few weeks ago ( I returned that one).

I wonder if that is considered QC issue where it can be replaced under warranty? What's the thin red line for something like that for Dell to replace?

If you have any problems with your laptop, you are still in 30days purchase period, you could asks for refund for full or asks for replacement now, it is best time to do so, after the 30 days period is over, they sent a technician over to fix your laptop problems.

Hey, I got a new replacement and got the 3nd laptop, this time the screen is more yellow tint, comparing to the first one. Dell has the worst quality control ever, or this batch has all the defective 4k UHD screen. Dell is doing a good job at destroying their company. 🤭
