This post pricing is for the Energizer Max 12 pack of D batteries. The reduced price is for packs that have an earlier expire date located under the 'New & Open Box' section.
The provided link is for the product information on Amazon, you will need to choose the 'New & Open Box' option to see the pricing of $6.85. Currently there are 3 options at time of post, each with a different expire date, but all the same $6.85 pricing. One states an expire date of 2031, but I will assume that it is supposed to mean 2021.
