It has an app where it notifies you when the load is running or finish.

Also, you can remote start the washer or dryer. Good if you are on electric TOU rate plans

Great deal. This washer was #1 recommended by Consumer Reports last I checked.

Gas model dryer on sale as well, $100 more than electric.

Your laundry area will dictate which type of dryer you should use. If you have a gas hook-up, go with that. Electric needs 220V. Running either a new 220V or a gas line is expensive so go with whichever is in place.

NJcleanEnergy.com program provides rebates of $50 to $75 on energy efficient washers and $100-$300 on Dryers for the customers of PSEG and few other energy service providers. Anyone got the PSEG rebate on these washers & dryers? These LG models are part of rebate eligible models list in the website. Though program rules says purchases with instant discount from participating retailers are not eligible for PSEG rebate. Wondering if this costco Instant discount disqualify the NJ Clean energy/PSEG rebate?

With Costco do you have to buy all the cords and hoses? Also does this include the Y connector for the dryer for the steam

Working through and sharing my math while deciding which way to go:

I need two sets of W&D (4 appliances) delivered, setup, stacked, installed, and the old ones out of the way (not necessarily hauled away, just get downstairs or out the front door) at a duplex I own.

HD and BB have a 'extra 10% off' if you buy 4 appliances.

2 washers, 2 dryers, 2 stacking kits, all the crap HD makes me buy that Costco doesn't, 4*25 'haul away/move' fees, less 10% bundle for 4 = $3023 before tax. I might be able to also apply an ebay-purchased HD in-store-only 15% (max $200) coupon, but that's going to be dicey and require an annoying store visit. Best case $2823 for two sets in white, with extra hassle.

This similar set at costco is just straight up $1,479.99 each with stacking kit, delivered and installed, no extra BS charges. Two separate orders and I can apply two separate $50 off $500 Costco coupons (ask nicely in chat) = $2860 before tax -- but 2 extra years warranty with costco visa card, and an extra 4% cash back with executive membership and costco visa card = $2745.60 with less hassle, better warranty, better return policy.

edit: CS gave me two different $50 off codes; I verified each worked independently. Trying to checkout the second one, it flags 'you can only use this type of promotion once'. Still happier ordering from Costco

I bought the $150 3-year Allstate extended warranty. 2 years free Costco, then 3 years paid Allstate, then the 2 year from the credit card after that. 7 years warranty!
I am seeing the Allstate warranty for $89.99 for appliances under $1000 which is $180 (for both washer and dryer). How did you get $150 ?

Also read the fine print Protection Plan Coverage Starts on the Day the Member Receives the Covered Item In other words it is only 3 years from date of purchase. You are only getting 1 extra year. Bet the Costo warranty runs out also at 2 years after delivery. Not 7 years, no stacking like you think.

They do seem pretty close. There are a few extra features on the 4200, like the AI DD (Artificial Intelligence Direct Drive) that won the 2020 CES Innovation Award. It has all sorts of advanced sensors to improve the cleaning.

Plus it is .5 cubic feet larger which is a bonus. It also has some other cycles, like spin only which we use here on comforters so that is a nice to have.

It seems worth the extra $150.

Kind of bothersome Costco lists the 3 year warranty as Allstate, but when you purchase it you find out it is from squaretrade. Allstate sounds better than squaretrade, Reviews on Costco about it are bothersome. Is the warranty 2 years manufacturer + 2 years Costco+3years squartrade = 7 years. Good luck trying to call and figure out who has the warranty and will honor it after 3 years.

Email says my squartrade warranty has shipped. So my three year warranty is off and running and I will receive the product in a month. Great.

4000 Series is 2021 model, 3900 is older.

From my research:
1. 4000 is essentially a 3900 with some minor updates like the "AI Fabric Sensor" and "Auto Pairing".
2. The 4000 lacks two programs, "Drain+Spin" and "Sportswear", that the 3900 has.

My opinion, the sensors are bullshit and likely LG can add to the 3900 with software updates.
As for the programs, all the program does is control how long , when and what sequence to run the three basics in a washer wash, spin and risne. If you are diligent enough you can achieve the same missing programs with some extra buttons .

I ended up buying the 4200 series with pedestal washer as there was only a $250 difference between the 3900 bundle and the 4200 bundle. Buy once cry once I get.

The 4200 series just has 2 extra cycles compared to 3900/4000 which again you can achieve with some extra button push and the biggest differece is that the 4200 washer has 5.0 cu feet capacity and is 3 inches deeper than 3900/4000 when doors closed but also less deep with doors opened so take that whatever it means.

I understand that, but the point is which sounds better in advertising the warranty. Allstate or squaretrade ?

When I had my LG washer/dryer delivered and installed a few years ago (similar deal from Costco) they used plastic tees and cheap rubber hoses that they provided. I planned on replacing the hoses with something better the upcoming weekend. But of course, these plastic tees broke literally 2 days after installing it, right before the weekend. Some water leaked into the ceiling and started dripping onto the couch underneath. Luckily we caught it quickly, but then in addition to replacing the hoses and tees I also got to dry out the drywall ceiling, fixing it up and repainting some spots... Next time I'll just hook it up myself or at least provide better hoses and tees...
Sorry to hear about your bad experience with the rubber hoses. Is everyone buying steel hoses beforehand and just having them installed at the time of the delivery? Or, it was just one off thing? What is recommended, just to be on the safe side. Thanks.
