I use these with my bedroom TV to supplement my 5.1 Vizio soundbar with wireless sub and rears. I combined them with a remote control line leveler to give volume remote control function:

https://www.newark.com/mcm-custom...st=50-8394

I then plugged both the Promedia speakers and line level controller each into an Amazon Alexa smart plug and created a group for both called "Klipsch". I can now power both on/off simultaneously via voice, tablet, computer, etc and then use the remote from the line leveler to control the volume on the speakers. Just be careful and set your volume on the speakers and line leveler evenly so not to overwhelm. I turned the line leveler down and set the speakers to roughly 40% of max. Works like a charm.

To sweeten the pot, I purchased a used Klipsch Promedia 2.1 bluetooth volume control pod off Ebay. Only difference from that pod and the one on this set is the addition of bluetooth. For those that do not know, Klipsch released a set of the 2.1 Promedia's awhile back that included bluetooth capability but did not have the THX certification. Bluetooth functionality sat in the control pod but for some reason those speakers lacked the THX cert. If you do go that route, just make sure you search for a pod with the VGA style connector for these certified speakers and not the din connector from the older style (I think they made both syles with bluetooth).

I now have a THX certified set with power on/off functionality, bluetooth and remote control. That being said, I could have prob gotten another speaker set with most functions inclusive for about the same price I spent here, but prob not the same quality and no the fun in that

Hope this gives some folks ideas HF and GL!!

These are still the gold standard for a no frills 2.1 setup in the price range.

I tried this set and the Bose Companion II set.. both are around $100. I am using these to connect to the laptop I use at one of my digital piano stations. I prefer the sound of the Bose Companion II speakers for that. However, I did but another set of these 2.1 THX Klipsch speakers from the walmart clearance deal (I think they're the same set) and use them at one of my desktop PC's. They sound very good and carry the highs and lows very well (for what they are). For youtubing/pandora'ing, or regular gaming I think I would recommend these.

this version has a low level buzz / hum since there is not a power button.

This is a great deal for a brand with a great reputation. Unfortunately the Klipsch doesn't have an optical sound input, like my Logitech Z625. If it did, I'd definitely trade!

So you have 3 set of speakers? and you prefer Bose Companion II the most, then the set from Walmart then the set from Costco?

I think the satellite speakers of Logitech Z625 need to place near subwoofer cause it use RCA adapter? Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 use the regular speaker wire so I can extend it easily if I need.

Correct. I also have 2 sets of the Logitech 5.1 surround sets and then some. :/ Having no kids or wife or pets or plants and I don't drink or smoke or do drugs or go to bars leaves me with a little more disposable income than others. Some may view that as a boring life but to each their own. I can't remember the last time I had drama in life and I come and go as I please and never have to check in with anyone. =)

FYI, the Logitech 530 and the 540 5.1 sets are actually really good sets for around the same price range. Not sure if they still make them anymore... but if you're into surround gaming then I DEFINITELY recommend them if you can find them.

Lmao. Hilarious albeit unnecessary details...but I share the same experience as you and 100% agree with it. We get to enjoy a bit nicer things! Though the drinking/smoking/drug stuff never really was my fancy anyways, I still have a good number of friends that do that lifestyle and blow $500/night bar hopping.

Question: I have the older Logitech 5.1 (Logitech X-530 5.1) but it always sound like the center is 'lacking'. Is this something a dedicated sound card can help with or is it just the speakers being dated?

How do people deal with lack of power button?

And I would love a desktop puck control with headphone jack. Are there anything people recommend for that with these?
Smart Plug. Google/alexa/etc turn off klipsch speakers

If you have the Vizio SB36512-F6 soundbar, then replacing it with a Klipsch Cinema 600 would be a downgrade according to https://www.rtings.com/soundbar/t.../863/20270

Has it always 'lacked'? I have the x530 and x540 sets too and I never felt it was lacking. I do use dedicated creative labs sound cards.

I also use the 1/8" jacks to connect the speakers to my sound card (you'll use a total of 3... 1 for center/sub, 1 for front pair, 1 for rear pair). If you think there may be a problem disconnect the other 2 and leave the center/sub plugged in and start playing an mp3 that you know how it should be sounding. While it's playing (loudly), push in and start playing with the jack at the computer side (listening for static or a change of sound) and then do it at the subwoofer side. If you're still not sure, swap that cable with one of the other cables.

Finally, in your Device Manager, you should be able to adjust the levels of your 5.1 setup ,,, maybe your center/sub are set too low?

let me know what you find out as now you have my curiosity peaked....

These speakers aren't suppose to be turned off. Even Klipsch says this. Turning them off shortens the life of these speakers.
Where exactly does Klipsch say not to turn off the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX Certified Computer Speaker System?
